It’s a bit difficult to pinpoint what the real story is behind this upcoming May release of the Air Jordan VIII. The immediate thought that comes to mind with Orange/Blue is a Knicks reference, while a 20th Anniversary of Chicago’s triumph over the Phoenix Suns in the ’93 Finals rises up as a possibility. Then again, there’s the Charlotte Bobcats connection. So which is it, or does it even matter? This is one of the best Retro+ colorways of the Air Jordan VIII we’ve ever seen, so there’s no question that these will be zeroed in on as we approach the release date. Enjoy the new photos below and let us know which “nickname” you’ll ride with – Suns, Knicks, or Bobcats.
Air Jordan VIII
Black/Bright Citrus-Cool Grey-Deep Royal Blue
This colorway and shoe has more connection with the Suns than the Knicks due to the fact that the 8's dropped in 93 and that's the year the Bulls and Suns meet in the NBA finals....It's only right to name them the Phoenix Sun 8's but it really doesn't matter tho
i'm tired of seeing these every day posted with different names and shit, we know about them already, we don't need no more pics, show some exclusive shit on your website like some og filas, reeboks, nikes, adidas, and Jordans, even CONVERSE had some HEAT shoes back in the 90s. Show them, not the same goddam jordans all the goddam time. THANK YOU!
It tickles me how SN post these pics come with names as in they knew what they were already called. First they called these knicks for awhile then they switched it to the suns and now they're saying its one of the three. Boy i tell ya SN help boost the hype as well, im sure we all kno that these will sellout instantly.
@bJWALKINriversyou are playing right? Not only are they "retros" but they're a new cw! So it's disrespectful the have a colorway of your shoe to match the team you own and frequently go to the games of??
@bJWALKINriversMybae you're right, but if linked to any 1 NBA team, I see the Bobcats. They're team colors are grey, blue and orange (all present in this shoe). I would go with Knicks but the grey takes up the entire back of the shoe. But hey, we agree to disagree and it is a great debate. No heated words and I respect you and your opinion to the fullest extent
@bJWALKINrivers @newsouth912 my guy you should by now any jordan that drop let alone a new retro 8 will sellout. The colors are nice but lets just leave it at a new colorway, i dont see knicks or suns at all. Those 12's u referring too werent associated with the syracuse but it did match. Those were clearly aimed at the bobcots from a cloring stand point which they did endup selling out.
@newsouth912now if they were to come out around the release date with a "bobcats" oriented name I would be willing to admit my faults but I just don't see that happening....in all honesty now that i mentioned the whole Syracuse thing I think he'd be more inclined to even dub them the Syracuse 8s before the Bobcats 8s..but hey nice debate, do as you please when you get yours, can't stop that respectfully
@newsouth912 if that was the case don't you think he would have already named a pair when he initially took owner is 2010? Jordan know's good and well if you name a color way after the bobcats it ain't selling. The name of these were the Suns and that was put out last year...don't try to be creative and give them a name that no one would call them...these aren't like the Cavs 4s which actually would have been respected with the name of the Knicks colorway. Good day sir...or ma'am
