Air Jordan VIII “Bugs” to Include Retro Card
For the newer Jordan fans who have no idea what a Retro Card is: when Air Jordan Retros began rolling out at higher frequencies, Jordan Brand included little postcards that featured a little history on the shoe as well as an iconic photo of MJ in the sneakers. Retro Cards came to a stop in 2009/2010, but the recent news of the Air Jordan VIII “Playoffs” coming packaged with these little collectibles was some pretty good news to the fellas who remembered collecting them and mounting them in frames. It turns out the Air Jordan VIII “Bugs”, which is scheduled for a release this weekend, will also comes with the card, so who knows what’s in store for the future? Let us know if the retro cards hold any significance to you and we’ll let you know what Jordan Brand’s future plans are regarding this throwback feature.
Nike is bringing back Jordan cards because the "kids" buying these retros only know Jordan by name association and hype.
The 07 release looks way better than the 2013 release I know this is a minor thing but the grey on the sole of the 2013 is to light and it throws the shoe off I,m glad I still have my 07's
RETRO CARDS WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE RETURNED ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO
BETTER LATE THEN NEVER IS THE SAYING
I HAVE SEEN THESE UPCLOSE AND THEY ARENT GREAT QUALITY, THE TOEBOX CREASE FAST
THE PLAYOFFS ARE TRUE TO THE 07' VERSION AND THE AQUAS AS WELL
THE CHROMES IDK YET BUT THE GRAPE 5'S ARE BAD QUALITY THO
@bob555 u are aware that any shoe u brought since the mid to late 2000's were synthetic right? Only the exclusive or shoes that are retroed rarely like the Ewings will get old school treatment. When air jordans first retroed in 94 and continued thru 2005 they uesd full grain leather but synthetics were on the horizon. What u are getting in 2013 isn't terrible, if that's the case kobes, lebrons, kd's, d rose's are all terrible bcuz there all synthetic my guy. Shoes change every decade like they did from the 50s to the 60s to the 70s etc. Shoes aren't meant to stay the same buy to evolve, now when u retro u can either use newer materials like their doing now or use the the old stuff like they did before with retros. Everything is bout lightweight on the feet and all companies jumped on broad with that. Atleast with retro jordans u either get synthetic, split grain or lightweight full grain leather. So in other words you don't won't a pair jordans for the most part
WHAT? THIS WEEKEND??!! I THOUGHT IT WAS THE 20TH, HOW AM I GONNA LINEUP FOR THESE WHEN I HAVE EXAMS COMING UP...SHIT
I want to get these, but I'm more concerned about the terrible materials used. Does anyone know if they're made of the same stuff as the 5's from January? If they are, I won't bother.
Same goes with the Grapes. Bad leather = no purchase for me.
I love the 8s but I hate how they play favorites with some models.
But I thought these release next Saturday? Someone please help me out, Im not trying to miss out.
Fuhh a card, make the shoes with better materials and stop having consumers go through hoops to get your product, also stop hiking up the prices!!!
These might be left over from 2007. They only go up to Jordan 22:
@BkLyNFlyGuy718 so which do u prefer, harder leather makes it harder to crease the toebox and softer leather makes it creases faster. They looked just fine to me when i seen them and felt great. These bugs bunny 8's are the same as the last few bugs that dropped but with a tougher upper
@hozezae Not really a fan of Kobe's and Lebron's. I'm quite an old guy (36) and look a bit weird in more modern style shoes. Wearing stuff like that make me feel like I'm having a mid-life crisis. I try and stick with shoes that were around when I was at school (88-95).
I have a pair of V's when I was at school, not sure whether they were synthetic or not. Last pair before this year was in 2006 and I bought the Sport Royal V's in 2006. They were definitely made of proper leather and looked incredible.
The black and white 13's I just picked up were proper leather, the two pairs of III's I just got (Retro 88 and the Crimsons) were proper leather.
If I'm paying the same price for the V's and VIII's as those pairs, I expect proper leather. Otherwise I just won't buy them. I just don't like synthetic shoes that feel hard and crease weirdly.
@bob555 I'm more concerned about if the lame ass lottery ticket system will be used to buy these.
@bob555 yea it's synthetic leather
@youngballcoach Its resellers my dude jordans are 160-180 like always except back then.
@MrNolimit23 that's wat I'm sayin bro
@SNEAKERscholar for sure no doubt, good stuff , nike / jb are always doing stuff like that
@bob555 @hozezae i hear u most def, there are lots of ways to make synthetic feel great. I have those royal 5's, & fire red 5's from 06 as well. Just like real leather its has different grains from full grain, top grain, corrected grain & split grain that is offered to you, synthetics they range in the sameway cuz u can either get soft synthetic or hard synthetic. Real leather crease.badly on shoes in the toebox and get lumpy but creases are creases not matter what material they use. I'm not saying they dont use good leather its just that were in an era where its about synthetics now. Definitely in 06 is when JB/nike and other.brands converted over to synthetics bigtime.
@Jumpfan23 its just funny because everytime i think about this sneaker the aqua always comes to mind first.
