The recent news of Andre Agassi’s return to the Nike fold no doubt had a good number of folks dusting off their old Tech Challenge stuff in celebration. Going way back into the vault, legendary collector Retro Kid came up with this-an original pair of the Nike Air Tech Challenge III made exclusively for Andre Agassi to wear for French Open play. The PE pair, an autographed and game worn one, featured a different tooling on the bottom to better attack the clay texture of the famed Roland Garros court. Get a better look at this incredible piece of Nike Tennis history below and let us know what your favorite Agassi pair is in the comments.

These are cool.  I remember seeing him wear these and noticing those Air Trainer soles with the zig-zag clay outsoles.  Nice collector item indeed.

In similar vein, Nike made a dimpled sole for Wimbledon's grass.  They did it for Mac's Air Trainers and later for the ATCs.

Very nice piece, John Handcock and all.

Wow, something you don't see everyday!
