Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it seems that Derrick Rose will indeed be back for the 2013-14 NBA season. Keep in mind that he’s been cleared to play for a while now, but he opted to sit it out during the playoffs with his long-term career in mind, and when he does make that return, the adidas Rose 4 will be his signature shoe. His previous sig, the adidas Rose 3, ended up a rather underrated model as a whole, and despite a solid design it seemed like the community at large wasn’t really checking for the shoe, as there wasn’t the necessary star power behind it (although consumers in China made the Rose line a massive hit). There was no Rose to make those highlight plays in the model that would drive folks to pick them up, an element that’s long been key in moving new basketball signature shoes, but that doesn’t meant there was any shortage of great releases – think the “Nightmare”, “Electricity”, and much more. With the adidas Rose 4 ready to be unveiled later this year, we’d like you to chime in on tonight’s What Do You Think? topic – Predicting the Fate of the adidas Rose 4.
adidas had to react. Who could blame them after all – the man they’d paid $250 million for was out of commission for an undetermined amount of time. In the wake of his absence adidas began pushing the new Crazyquick line just a little more, and the likes of young phenom Damian Lillard and the newly signed John Wall were brought in closer to the spotlight. Sort of signifying the change was the replacement back in May at the adidas HQ of the 5-story tall Derrick Rose Banner with one featuring the newly minted Rookie of the Year Lillard. With the adidas Basketball landscape shifting a little since the injury, can Rose’s line regain its footing when (if) he makes his long awaited return this Fall? In terms of design alone the adidas Rose 4 definitely has what it takes, staying true to the shape of the previous iteration while bringing in changes like a new lacing system, as well as a pieced off back end that seems to offer a bit more support. Continue reading to see a full gallery on what appears to be a “Christmas” version of the adidas Rose 4, let us know your predictions for the fate (will it bounce back?) of Derrick Rose’s sneakers, and then grab an early pair from dballaholic on eBay.
Yo, these look WACK. I've been a fan of the Drose sneakers since the 1.5 and I thought they were growing in design each iteration. The 3.5 was INCREDIBLE. I got the Year Of The Snake color way and unreleased Chicago Bears color way. Maybe the 4 will grow on me, but I doubt it. They look like the failed in-between design of the 2.5, 3, & 3.5 models. The front bottom sole looks nice, but that's it. Hope the 4.5 saves em design wise, or I won't be buying any Adidas this season.
Seems like they're good for the court. But honestly, they are not that great looking. Looks like they cut the front of one shoe and put on the back of another shoe, and stitched it together.
Only way you can hate Adidas is if you're not a ball player. Simple as that, if you wanna look nice outside keep your fucking Jordans. These are unique. Look different and made specifically for the court.
Hey, if you don't like'em, don't buy'em!
That said, some of you act as if Phil Knight is sitting in between your legs, then giving you a blowjob.
Adidas is prolly prayin DRose stays healthy. One more injury, and EVERYONE is gonna blame the shoes. They'll b finished.
It doesn't seem like adidas cares about basketball shoes. They lead the industry in soccer shoes. Basketball is an after thought.
I am really disappointed in Sneaker News for this article. You post pictures of an early stage sample of the Rose 4, in an unflattering color make up, and ask your community to determine the future success of the shoe. You're setting them up to fail, this is despicable reporting and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
I really do try my best to like Adidas but its as if they don't even care that they're second and third best as far as basketball shoes go. Year after year Nike continues to crush them with new revolutionary designs and Adidas doesn't seem to want anything more then second place. These mediocre designs will forever keep them in second place...
Ok.... they're doing too much with these. They may grow on me, but right now, i'm not a fan. They'd better be awesome on-court performers.
Adidas makes inferior quality shoes then nike, there construction, design and materials are "basic" quality at best. If you like how they look then ok cop and rock them bitches, but if you are a high level basketball player look at nikes. And if yer ever in Chicago I'll show u want a high level player looks like on court ;-) - wherein kobe 8s btw
I hate Adidas because im a high level basketball player and the shoes are cheap and don't last as long or perform as well as nikes, low level players can where them though cuz there slow un explosive weak players
@acdc2 are you stupid?
@acdc2 WRONG, actually Nike is the number 1 supplier around the world for football (soccer) shoes/cleats and apparel. Adidas is number 2, it just seems that way because many of the Biggest Names over football's last 15 or so years have been sponsored by Adidas, like Beckham and Zidane. and now currently they have Messi. Perception is not reality.
@JordanLane2 so true
@DominicD you work for adidas , dont you dominic? its okay.. no judgement
@DominicD nothing wrong with this man
@DominicD you are closed minded. nothing wrong with this article
@bloodyfetus Can't agree with anything you're saying.
Young, no I wish, dumb only when replying to u, traction is horrible , the worst cheapest terrible flat 1980 laces, cheap coushin sucks on court, foam along bottom is to soft and gets gouged out so easy, I wore the roses in the weight room and destroyed the foam around the bottom, such cheap crap, the toung is garbage and won't stay in place when playing, should I go on about the other models I've tested, try a new on court shoe every month and Adidas always get thrown in junk pile, the real joke is I was DUMB enough to get custom id versions to, have fun playing with weak lil kids next time ur in Chicago ill show u what "high level" means
