You might not typically think of them as the most closely related because their respective wavy lines travel in opposite directions and the Max Air cushioning is quite different, but the Nike Air Max Plus is in some ways quite similar to the Air Max 97. Both are more popular in Europe and Asia than here in the States, both top of the line Max runners released in the late ’90s. The same Euro sneakerheads who love the 97s sleek lines have nicknamed the AM Plus ‘Tuned 1’ in reference to its Tuned Air and original Air Max TN name, but few 97 colorways outside of last year’s Hyperfuse edition pack the visual punch of this ‘Diablo Red’ Plus. Take a closer look after the jump, then see what you can do about getting them from the only stockist: Foot Locker EU.

To have a wide release of these would be nice. Really cool shoe and a classic silhouette.
