Nike Air Pippen – Midnight Navy – Sonic Yellow – Tropical Teal

June 19th, 2013 by / 13

The Nike Air Pippen is one of those out-of-nowhere re-release of 2013, as this 90′s model made some sparks as we saw the “Camo” and “Noble Red” colorways get a nice preview in May. It looks like the Pippen is hitting stores sooner than expected – and in new colorways no less; this Midnight Navy/Sonic Yellow-Tropical Teal colorway grabs that Memphis Grizzlies appeal that Rudy Gay would love (but wait, he’s in Toronto now), but these figure to be a nice Summer sneaker pick-up nonetheless. Check out more photos below and cop now at Nike retailers like Social Status.

I don't know what it is, but the way these colors come together is perfect for the summer.

OG white pair? Some Pippen 2s? A proper release of the rest of his line? And go old school like Penny's line. Give us the Air Ups, a proper Maestro retro, the White/Red, Black/Red/White and Hoop Pack More Uptempos. Nothing wrong with these but let's see hidden gems brought back as well. This is like watching all the Flight 98 "The Glove" new colorways when he has an entire line that needs some love including the OG pairs of The Glove.

I for one could care less about og colorways and I've been on sneakers forever... I just get what I like... and I like these

I've got to get my hands on at least ONE pair of these. I like them.

It's official...I'm goin for the whole set now - Camo/Black/Green, Noble Red's... AND DEFINITELY THESE!

It's tough to see these in non-OG colors. It's weird, because we see all sorts of retros in all sorts of cw's, but these and the Griffey 1's just don't feel right. Having said that, these are pretty nice.

Og black/white and these are the only two CWs I'm going for unless they do something crazy to change my mind...

Pippen 1's and Griffey 1's are classics but only in OG Colorways. I really don't see why they come out with so many colorways for a shoe that's not that sought after unless you're a true sneakerhead but true sneakerheads only want OG shit! You'll see these at outlets eventually.

@ilovewordplay  yeah there are a few exceptions but they got those right the first time. Not to mention both have a bunch of other great shoes in their line that aren't getting proper love. Griffey 3s? PROPER Griffey Total Maxes? Pippen 2s? Both had a few shoes before their signature line that are in desperate need of retroing. PROPER Diamond Fury for Griffey...not some $50 looking fakes with a 360 air bag. Air Up/Maestro/More Uptempos for Pippen.

Yeah the OG Cw is always the best... But don't get the misconception that to be a sneaker head you only want the OG shit..... Real sneakerheads buy what they like for the love of the shoe not because its original color.... But great statement.....
