Complex’s History of Jay-Z in Air Jordans
Tomorrow is a big day for Jay Z, as the rapper is already guaranteed to lock down platinum status faster that anyone in history thanks the Samsung release of his new Magna Carta Holy Grail album. Delivering us a Jigga Man retrospective is Complex, who has compiled a host of moments throughout the years in which Jay could be spotted in Js. There are iconic shots like him looking over the Barclays Center with the Air Jordan VI on, and then there are forgotten gems like him rocking the Air Jordan V “Laney” before he went into “I don’t wear jerseys” mode. Continue reading for a small sample of the Jay-Z in Jordans shots and then hit up Complex for the full piece.
I'm a lot younger than Jay-Z, but it's crazy how much influence Jordan's (1-15) have our culture! Jordan's gave inner city kids the dream that if you wear these shoes you could someday be " like Mike". A lot of us that grew up in the Jordan era of basketball still hold on to that dream, and that's why we still buy them, not for the hype, not cuz you rich or broke, for the love!
WTF!! he rockn same shit i do! nigga can buy out an entire hospital floor for delivery of his newborn, HOE-VA surely can buy the whole DB, CDP's, DMP's ect. x 1000
That platinum status is BS! If I were him, I wouldn't even mention that Samsung is gonna "purchases" a million copies of your CD in digital format to give away in a wack a$$ promotion. Thats something the Dumb Money idiots do for Wayne, Drakey, and the big booty crazy looking blonde with Turrets Syndrome.
I'm not a hater.... Any clothing/sneaker that man puts on he ruins it. He's one of those ppl whatever he wears it just do look right on him
So you don't know Jordan? Its jus crazy to hear a man "criticize" another man's choice in sneakers, clothing, etc? That's shit women to do fam.
@sneakergeeker Man, please stop. Your Dunks aren't better than any of my 1s, belee dat!
@goodafresh So, your adoration (jocking) of these two, or anyone, doesn't allow for any mention of them if it's critical? By your logic, unless you know someone personally, you can't give them praise, either.. Correct?
@goodafresh That's not hate at all; that was a criticism. Learn to differentiate the two. Btw, I am a Chicagoan, and Mike's late, former mother-in-law was a friend of the family and fellow churchgoer of my father.
@goodafresh That's funny, right?
@goodafresh You probably ain't EVEN a brother, talking that sh@t.
@goodafresh I got more important things to attend to. You already dead.. (No exclamation point. "..and lame-o was his name-o..)
@goodafresh You're right on two counts: You are done, and were when you began with me, and, I'm NOT a "n1@@uh" like you. I'm a Black Man, and as such, can look to more than just a sports or music celebrity for inspiration. Try and have a better day.
There was no praise in your original statment bro? Like I said that's shit women do, when I was 11 Jordan was winning championships my dude,he was the best,and where I'm from wasn't to many people to look up to so you Damn right he was iconic, as well as Jay-Z in music! Jocking that's cute, I'm done bro, its obvious you ain't a nigga like me!
