“Doernbecher” Air Jordan V
Another look at the Air Jordan V “Doernbecher” is upon us, with a clearer view at some interesting details bringing up a number of interesting thoughts surrounding the design. As you know, the Doernbecher Freestyle is a partnership between the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and Nike Inc., in which a select group of young patients are given the opportunity to design a silhouette with the help of a Nike designer. This year’s Air Jordan model (undeniably the “highlight” of the coveted bunch) is the Air Jordan V, and it features a number of great features like a profound message plastered on the upper, the number 9 stitched on the heel, premium inner linings, and what appears to be the initials of the young designer and perhaps a date that honors his eventful life. More views are just below so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates on this release and the 2013 Doernbecher Freestyle and we’ll keep you up to date with all the solid, confirmed details.
i love the idea of helping kids in this way, but Nike needs to do a little better with the execution of these shoes. not one of my favs. think im just gonna stick with the low dunks
I respect the cause but once again. Nike could make so much more money for the DB Foundation if they produced more pairs instead of limiting the pairs they make and having resellers sell them for triple the retail price while keeping all the profit
These are dope Nike just need do make a lot of pairs to satisfy the demand. The first 4 were easy, but the last 2 have been a headache do to the overhyping.
That little rainbow effect might be the very thing that puts these over the top when you see them in person... I'm not a patent fan but with that color glare I could change my mind . Guess I'm still on the fence. But we're going to see a million pictures of these before they release... As usual.
Copping to help out the hospital, I like the kicks, but the fact they are for a bigger cause than just being a pair of shoes makes them worth every penny I spend on these on release day.
im not a fan of the 5s but these are remarkable although i will not be buying these they look beautiful along with the doernbchers serving an incredible story
Do Doernbecher Jordans come out at a like Footlocker or House of Hoops? & I Hope They Drop in Gs Sizes!
Anyone else notice the rainbowing on the reflection? I wonder if these really are patent or some other reflective/shiny material....like. Holographic of some sort...
Patent leather looks weird on Vs. Respect the cause but shoe looks weird. The previous shots made me think it was just normal leather. Resellers should donate at least 50% of profits. Most won't but they should.
If they're going to make these limited (and obviously they are and have been) they should be an auction only shoe like they did with the Air Mags. That would basically end reselling and maximize the amount made for charity. Basically they'd sell for what most of these will end up selling for on eBay, but the money would go to DB instead of resellers. Personally I wish they'd just keep making them until nobody would buy them and make a ton more money and we could all get a pair but we know that is NEVER going to happen.
Planning on copping, then reselling with the profits of resell going directly to a cancer charity in my town. I think that's probably the only acceptable way of reselling these
these are okay. but definetly not a summer time shoe! patten leather gets super hot in direct sun. but id pass on these. v-labs and bel airs only fives i want now
These are sick but they look like a culmination of patent leather (creases-cracks) & the 3M bravo's (creases/ cracks).
awful. anyone who says that he wants to cop for the donation, better give the money directly to the hospital if he misses the release. otherwise..hyperbeast.
Was feeling until the all patent leather, but I'm still copping to respect the meaning these stand for. And I won't be taxed by a hypebeast . I will have for retail plus my donation to the foundation since I have many friends to put in for me in the raffles as well as me camping a full day before the release to guarantee a hypebeast isn't taxing in my hometown of Sa,TX. RIP Isaac, condolences to the family.
I love this idea of nike x doernbecher childrens hospital. I hate that resellers are charging $500 over retail for a charity shoe. They should be 1) ashamed 2)making a $300 donation
@BBTrickShot yea, it's probably the kid's bday or something significant
@boodle81 And as someone who is currently in a childrens hospital, i do appreciate it.
@boodle81 yeah and u are going to sell for bigger bucks eventually
@KidBobot kinda remind me of the holographic 4s
@FrodoTBaggins You sir are a genius. Seriously, I think that really is a great idea.
@FrodoTBaggins salute to you for doing that! wish more people would take the same attitude when it comes to Doernbechers.
@isaacdexx Wow. Sounds awesome.
@ohshit_itstonio Space Jams? Oh, really?
