Long gone are the days when a signature sneaker’s range of releases consisted mostly of two-toned, team-based colorways. Also gone are the days when a signature sneaker could sit back on the laurels of a small handful of colorways. Adding on to those looks in the modern era of shoe design are seemingly endless “story” sneakers – pairs that wear more exotic color combinations that are associated usually with the off-court life of the associated player. LeBron James’ Nike Basketball line is exemplar of that trend; there’s the “South Beach” alluding to his move to Miami, the yearly “Dunkman” riffing off MJ’s logo, the “Cork” that celebrated his first championship, and countless others.
While those sorts of energetic looks have certainly been celebrated, there’s still something to be said for the good old fashioned team colorways; after all, it’s those that will more often be spotted on court for the associated player. It will be colorways like those that King James will be wearing most frequently as attempts to put together a third championship season in three years. This, the Nike LeBron 11 “Away” is one of those. The sneakers have a combination of University Red and Bright Crimson gripping the upper, the former providing the base color for the Hyperposite section while the latter does the speckling on top. The Nike LeBron 11 “Away” will release on November 1st for $200 at select Nike Basketball retailers.
if u work in footwear and have seen them already, you know like i know that these look like trash in person. the water spots look like an unwashed car. The color blocking is by far the worst it has ever been making the shoe look larger than ever. So if you wear a 9 or bigger i bet u pass or return lol, best color imo is the kings pride. the tonal effect makes the shoe look way neater even in size 15
The team colors usually go on sale big time so hoping that these will too (not sure why they would though since these might end up being one of the best if not the best XI's).
@Future_2015 supposedly 11/1
@scaredmagic the past Bred colorways did go on sale. But these are by far the best BREDs released in a long time. Im copping.
@scaredmagic I think Nike has thier supply chain down to a science this year. I doubt the stock lasts more than 2 weeks. The only shoes that will go on sale will be the elites.
