Nike Kobe 9 Elite “The Masterpiece”
All the arty “Prelude Pack” Kobes will culminate in the release of the Kobe 9 Elite “Masterpiece”, a pair that will represent the pinnacle at this point of his Nike signature line. That pinnacle is also a literal one-this Elite version of the shoe extends higher up than the rest of his Nike Basketball designed models. But keep in mind that height isn’t one dictated by his injury from last season, as the designers in Beaverton work way ahead of schedule and this pair was already locked in at the time of that event. Continue reading to get a better grasp of the sneakers and watch for the Kobe 9 Elite to launch on February 8th, 2014.

i have mixed feelings on this one. its like a hybrid of nike air mags and flyknits with a supra skytop look
@sneakernews I have that much time to pass on these? Thanks.
@sneakernews can't wait to ball in these
the elite is not for me..wayy to high..might be a great perf shoe but i prefer a mid to low. i am on the short side and light side so i am waiting for the mid version either the elite or the EM..either way i will go with that..the high is just too much for me personally.
i believe that these shoes were crafted by the basketball gods themselves, its going to change the way basketball shoes are made forever, yet as a person who really doesnt participate in sports im hoping for a low cut version soon
I cannot WAIT until the first AFTER pics hit the web, after they've been stepped on a few times.....LMAO!!!!!
Performance aside, these shoes ARE! Take a good look at these in profile and tell me, honestly, they are ugly... Then I'll accuse you of being a fiend and lecture you on the adverse effects of substance abuse. Think forward. Live forward. Imagine how much better Nike's flagship Airmax runner would do if '95's haven't been a available for purchase for 18 consecutive years. 95's will be 30 in '15 and they're tired, played. These Kobe's are a step forward. They look very versatile; like I would be surprised if we don't see an NFL cat with a cleated pair of these. Fire... You know it burns shit, but you still want to spark one, then throw things into it. Masterpiece, indeed!
headline should read: "Kobe, tired of hurting his ankle, opts for the highest basketball shoe in history."
Can we get a pic of these with people who know how to rock shoes. Guy has his tied all the way to the top like he is about to hoop in the damn store
Funny how niggas be wearin Fire Reds with a red shirt and actin like that's style. Then they hop on this shoe and be like "Damn, them shits ugly!" Oh, we're sorry, don't got a shirt to go with these, hm? In all reality, these shoes are actually rather stylish. They've got such an interesting modern look to them, and the "boxing" flare is intimidating. Sure, they're a little too pricey, but I think the shoe deserves the term "The Masterpiece." They're the first of their kind. Bold. New. Better than just taking the Kobe 8 and throwing blue on it for more money COUGHgamma blueCOUGH COUGH. Have a good day.
With the materials used, these are worth fifty dollars, max. However, to simply watch Kobe's dweeb fans wear these while thinking they look cool, it will be priceless.
Good for the game bad for the looks " ugliest as hell" maybe the best for the court but in the fasion way are not acceptable maybe if they change the pijata colorway I change my mind.
@Kev Loco That is how these shoes are suppose to be worn. They are designed that way.
@Tstewie I like the shoe for the design and tech. There are plenty of things to go with this shoe but I am not worried about that. This is better than the Lebrons for sure.
@Longstroke Have you ever worn a flyknit shoe? Probably not. It is well worth the price and quality. I will be smacking my 220 + tax on these on release day.
