Damian Lillard’s future as an NBA star is unquestionable. With multiple accolades already under his belt and a long career ahead of him, Lillard has the potential to be the face of the next generation of elite ballers. adidas was incredibly shrewd in signing the Portland guard to a deal, but the irony is that his overachievement on-court might give him the opportunity to leave the three-stripes brand. Because of all of his accomplishments, he now has the option to vacate his adidas contract at the end of this season with no strings attached, and while that in no way means that he will leave the brand, a bidding war among the highest spenders (adidas, Nike, Under Armour) is surely to begin.
The sneaker landscape is one dominated by the alpha signature athletes, and with Kobe nearing retirement, LeBron arguably reaching his peak, Kevin Durant shedding the fresh face look, and Derrick Rose’s uncertainty, the lane is wide open for Damian Lillard. He has all the tools to become the next name in the exclusive signature athlete club, but what brand he chooses to represent plays a major role in his potential legacy as a signature sneaker athlete. What are your thoughts on Lillard as a sig athlete (we already pinned him as one with high potential)? Will he leave adidas? If so, where do you think he will end up? Let us know.

Why on earth would anyone go with JB?? To get a wack team Jordan?? Nike has 4 good players that they don't wanna give Signature shoes to. Wouldn't go there. ADIDAS will go all out for him. Stay there
@sneakernews I could bet momey he's gonna sign with adidas
Idc which brand he signs with but I hope he leaves adidas. They gotta stop dick riding D. Rose & try to build up multiple stars at a time not just him. No shade to Rose but adidas doesn't even try to market their other star(s). They take their signings for granted.
@ saralee JB slipping in design lately unless it's Jordan sig model? The Super Fly has been highly rated and the M10 are arguably two the best performance shoes on the market! Everyone still cares about the look but performance means more! Look the performance reviews of the Lebron XI compared to those two and it's severely lacking but has the look that people want!!!
He should go to JB or Under Armour. With JB he my not get a sig but he will have a shit load of exclusive shit. Westbrook and Griffin will get one if they stay for the next 2 years but the industry is more cautious of sigs these days.
@benitaylor crazy. Curious to see where he goes, let the bidding war commence.
@FTCS_Hoops would not surprise me. He is just starting to get somewhere with them
Like u said Melo 10..... Nothing since 5.5 were nice to me. I understand clearly about it being a performance shoe and let's not forget the melo 10s are a XX8 with a different toe and back
@DocBill1 he won't care about exclusive ones, he'll care about which offers the most money, promise you that.
@RollieDingers To be fair, he's done more for them than anyone else the last few years. Deserves to get paid. Hopefully by the right brand!
I think I like that idea and if that happens hopefully he gets a great looking shoe, jordan brand has been slipping in the design area unless it has to do with MJ himself
Right, because JB gave Westbrook and Griffin their own shoe. We've seen this with Kyrie, Rondo and Nike(shoot, can even say Harden, is the Crusader even his SIG shoe?)... if Lillard is looking for his own SIG, I'd say Adidas is quickest to do that for him. Shit, they're giving rappers their own SIG(asap rocky, snoop dogg), why not SIGs for the NBA's upcoming best talent, Wall and Lillard.
@benitaylor absolutely, he's the real deal and deserves the best. Whoever gets him will have made a good move.
@saralee exactly, fuck getting with JB, outside the nice PE's you get the actually sigs shoes is DIRT! ..never bought cp3's or melo's
@OverTimeOften Your right about the Sig part (I just like how JBs new shoes perform, in contrast to adidas), maybe he'll join Stephen Curry and join Under Armor.. He'll probably have the most chance of getting a sig model over there.
