The Air Jordan XX9 was the sneaker on feet for Russell Westbrook while he and the Thunder threw down in that statement of a Game 7 that would send them to the next round in the 2014 NBA Playoffs. Shown here is that very shoe, one with an OKC “Home” colorway and plenty of elephant print style graphics for the flight woven performance upper. What’s interesting is that they don’t really scream “player exclusive” – the number on the back end is the standard #23 instead of Russ’s #0 and we can’t spot any name detailing. See the evidence below and remember that the Air Jordan 29 will be launching in September of 2014.
@sneakernews them shits aren't helping him tonight
@sneakernews them juggs ugly af
@sneakernews Enough with the elephant print already
Get off of the old Jordans nutz and enjoy the future of shoes. 15, 17,18, 19, 21 and 22s need to be retroed though. Especially the 21 and 22 which are the best performance shoes outside of the 2011-2012 and of course the XX8.
The way the upper tends to blend into the midsole and outsole makes the shoe look awkward. It isn't as bad on this show but still shows up with the fugly elephant print on the back. The colorways are killing what probably has potential to look like an alright shoe. For what will probably be a very good performance shoe, that looks like a joke, these shoes should definitely not exceed $200.
Dagg, they need to weave silowhets of classic retros, as well as weave a big ass detailed jump man logo like that iconic picture MJ took doing the jumpman back in 85. C'mon people wtf is going on over there at jordan brand
I like the XX9, but the color blocking on this pair is terrible. If you have the tech to weave an upper with whatever pattern you want, why make it look like an awkward version of a conventional shoe? Get wild with the upper like Leo Chang did with the KD 6. Make each pair a new experience.
Baffles me 2014 and they're still riding elephant prints coat tail. If that's the case why not produce a shoe equally as iconic?
I wish they took the elephant print off of the toe. Anyway I would buy these. This color way is way better than the black/red.
Ugly ugly jb should done somerjing different for the j 29 will see other colorways they shoild just stop at 30
Tf you talking about the old Jordan's are you referring to the same person but in past tense jays are jays but we all kno after 13(when he left bulls) Jordan's took a big dip or drop off but I can see why he makes them so ugly so he can have our ass standing in line for retros shrewed designing smart buisness man
If this is the future I want no parts and I had the 21s and 22s they were alright performance wise but I don't think they would make a good retro
@phillishoes You must not have ever tried on a flyknit shoe.
In no way am dissing flyknit? It is a good material, where did you get that question? All flyknit shoes made so far have an upper which contrasts the mid/outsole like original shoes, so that they don't look awkward. This is also not flyknit, or they would have labeled it that way (just as they label fly-wires and such the same as mainbrand nike). I said the shoes will probably perform well, but that the designing and colorways make the shoe style look weird.
I also have kobe 9 elites, hyperfeel, and flyknit 4.0. So yes I have tried on flyknit.
