It looks like the Black Sheep x Nike SB Dunk High “Paid in Full” might have hit a legal snag on the way to its retail release. As of now, the skate shop that the sneakers come from is cancelling the release and putting it out there that “we cannot comment any further”. In addition, the sneakers have been pulled from Nike’s official release calendar. Reading between the lines, it seems likely that the over-the-top Gucci imprint on the design caught the attention of the folks of the luxury house, stirring them to take action. Remember, this isn’t the first time a Nike SB Dunk seemingly inspired by the high-end brand was cancelled. Read Black Sheep Skate Shop’s official statement below and stay tuned to Sneaker News to see if the Black Sheep x Nike SB Dunk High “Paid in Full” ever makes it to retail in a different form.

We are very sorry to announce that, effective immediately, the release of the Black Sheep x Nike SB Dunk High Premium has been cancelled. All unsold pairs have already been returned. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your continued support. We cannot comment any further at this time, so no calls or emails please.

Funny how Nike doesn't sue Gucci for copying their Nike Blazer shoes.

You'd think Nike's legal department would have known that from the jump. The monogram pattern is a well established Gucci IP. The Freddy Kruger's were kind of similar, but it was the internal emails referring them to the "Freddy Kruger's" that was their undoing. Sad this happened to my local shop and even more sad that the resellers reap all the benefits now.

LOL. That's what they get for blatantly ripping off another brand's design. Too much copycat work going on these days.

@PeterRomanski @"C.E.O." the price is only going to go up from here... and so will the quantity of shoe.... I will laugh though... if they do find a way to make a deal and they come out.....

@PeterRomanski @NYCIDDY @"C.E.O." there might be a variant in the works.. i mean look at the walk of fame dunks... but word... dropping 4-5  on this is crazy... even skate shops that had them sold them for 150.. or less

I can understand why Gucci would report Nike for this. Well that's a bummer
