The Nike Tiempo ’94 Mid makes more sense than most retro silhouettes as far as World Cup tie-ins are concerned. While it’s not explicit that this new gold pair is that sort of sneaker, it seems like a safe bet to assume that its regal tones are a nod to the spoils waiting for whichever team takes it all the way in the 2014 World Cup. The pair comes as a part of the greater “Gold Trophy” set that includes a selection of models rather similar to the recent “Mercurial” and “Magista” NSW groups.
