Sneaker Con returned to New York City this weekend, hosting the massive event for the first time at Pier 92-94 in the region’s historic waterfront district on the West Side Highway. The sneaker buy/sell/trade event quickly outgrew Basketball City, where it was held the last three NYC dates, and the new venue was just enough room to hold all the attendees that came from all around the globe. This weekend’s date was by far the largest in the event’s history, as thousands of folks poured into the building to buy, sell, and trade the most popular and sought-after footwear in the market.
On top of all the vendors and attendees, brands like Johnny Cupcakes, Staple Design, Jason Markk, Rastaclat, and many more set up shop to showcase their own unique products. Also, the Sneaker News booth was open for the first time with a special “on-feet” photo booth for all who came by. Below we have a selection of some of the incredible sights of Sneaker Con NYC, so take a look through the photo gallery and stay tuned for the latest updates on Sneaker Con as we approach the fall season. pic 3 on page 3 does anyone know the name of those green n red sbs lows are? next to pigeons and brain wrecks?
Wow almost all of the resellers are little white boys.. This is the reason real collectors miss out on releases smh lol.
damn so many bred 1's on page 3, i still need a pair of those and the royals and the shadows....really want them in the rotation, but im dropping no crazy money on em
Even Grandma was out there with her walker and a bag full of shoes "gettin that paper" (p.10) Sheesh!
Smh nothing different from other event. Nothing but resellers with ridiculous prices, little kids (with their parents), and hypebeast.
I came out of sneaker con with two steals, 2004 melo Jordan 12s for 40 and ds 2002 varsity royal foamposite pros for 260. Couldn't even believe it myself. Only negatives was the sellers/venders prices. 95% of the owners were asking for flightclub prices even for shoes that are worn and not in good condition. You really had to look to find somthing for a reasonable price. A large majority of the shoes released within the last year which sucked cause I was looking for rare shoes. The line outside was ridiculous. Waited over an hour just to get by the fence then some how the lines got f*cked up and I took advantage of the situation and went straight to the door. I wish I would've just done that sooner. Looking forward to the next sneakercon.
Beard guy wins. I laughed at that authentication site, just shows that the "con" in sneaker con is sometimes an apt description.
Man, so many dope kicks. Probably asking resell prices as usual. Don't understand why Nike/Jordan brand doesn't increase the shoe supply like video games like Rockstar Games to make billions of dollars or more in a few days. Eventually, go on sale. Never gonna happen though; its all 'bout EXCLUSIVES.
it was sack, i had a table and there where way to many sellers and 2% buyers. What a waste. should have just gone in and put my kicks on the floor for a set up. Sneaker game sucks
@Biga173rd when did you start collecting/wearing kicks at 30? just like a rap concert.. its going to be filled with more white pre-teens/teens/young adults...thats just facts homie.. honestly these little kids are who we're passing the torch too... yes some of them are hypebeasts and some of them are trying to rape you but for the most part the kids made the show.. they had the best deals as far as kicks and they're the ones most likely not to low ball you and are willing to take fair trades.
@Biga173rd yeah, every sneakercon dominated by kids....shyt is a shame
@Cut Up lmaooooooo
@Founding Father you really trying to bag shorties an a sneaker event tho? thats a fail in itself.
@Founding Father Instead of noting sneakers youre looking at the sausages. haha
@187swizz this was the case last year
@OmarSalazar88 Damn that did not sound fun at all. Nice pick ups on those Gems. Good hustling and searching you can't let these little resellers rape your wallet.
@blackrabbot Yea pretty much.
@Biga173rd @kshaun12 my man went to the one out here in DC/MD few months back, told me bout all the kids, but he said some of the kids can be simple enuff to get low balled on some stuff. he came up on a pair of shadow 1s ....i just wouldnt want to be around so many of them, like these niggas look like they 12 and 13 out the jnt lol
@Founding Father "youngin"? You assume to much. What exactly did you found? hating? Look at your comment history. All you do is hate on these events that you never attend. You're a loser and pretty transparent. Get a day job dude
