Sneaker collaborations are a tightly knitted affair and more often than not, we catch first wind of an upcoming store + brand partnership through a teaser of some sort. Extra Butter, the NY-based sneaker boutique that brought you some out-of-the-box collaborations in the past like the Asics “Death List 5” that paid homage to the Kill Bill franchise, is rewriting the sneaker collaboration script with their “For The People” concept by allowing the public to help design the shoe through social media. Inspired by the democratic voting system, Extra Butter is allowing the entire design process to be governed by the public and throughout the upcoming weeks, you’ll get to vote on various design elements of a Saucony shoe (maybe the actual shoe is the first vote?). This has never been done before so be sure to keep an eye on Extra Butter’s social media on Instagram and Twitter to be part of this public-driven collaboration that is set to release in 2016.
