New York Knicks forward, Jared Jeffries hasn’t exactly been setting the league ablaze with his play this year. The Knicks are off to a 1-9 start, and despite a lack of substantial playing time in that stretch, Jeffries has been making some noise with his kicks instead. Despite the struggles of Jeffries and his team, he still has his Air Jordan PE’s to take consolation in. Last week, we gave you a look at a fresh pair of Air Jordan XX3 PE’s created for Jeffries, and now we turn our attention to a personalized Air Jordan V well-suited for Knicks away games. The shoe sports a Black nubuck upper with the traditional Red and Silver accents replaced with some touches of Blue Ribbon and Orange Flash (although it looks more Red in these photos). Keep reading for a look at some more pics and stay tuned for more PE heat from Jared Jeffries. Via Shoesholic.

That we’re focused on the Air Jordans worn by a guy who doesn’t score much should let you know that something is going on here. It’s far less crazy that Marcus Jordan is wearing the Air Jordan XI (11) Retro ‘Space Jam’ over six weeks before its retail release than adidas canceling their $3 million contract with the University of Central Florida over Jordan Jr. wearing his legendary dad’s kicks. Perhaps the craziest part is that this story is generating alot of mainstream press for something about sneakers, so while Jordan Brand is getting some free publicity, we can’t help but wonder if some fans might think adidas rash in their decision. When it comes to Jordan Brand and the Air Jordan series, the ‘icons’ that might first come to mind are, of course, the Jumpman, and probably the OG ‘Wings’ logo (not to mention frozen moments after jumpers in Cleveland and SLC). Strange, then, to see a sneaker dubbed Air Jordan Icons when they’re derived from two shoes that MJ never wore on an NBA floor. This lifestyle fusion model is essentially a pairing of the dope computerized embroidery on the Air Jordan XX3 (23) with the AJXX’s tooling and IPS (Independent Podular Suspension) system. Expect this pair in March of next year. via SC

Jared Jeffries is dangerously close to the Fred Jones line (read: JB needs a guy in New York, but maybe someone who scores more than 5 a game?) and might be the least high-profile NBA player on Jordan Brand’s roster. The former Hoosier might not play more than 20 or so minutes a night, but dude has some of the dopest Air Jordan XX3 PEs we’ve seen. University of Virginia basketball was at its peak while MJ was at Chapel Hill, so we’re a little surprised to see their colours look so good on the UNC-inspired ‘argyle’ side panels. Then again, while Jeffries’ best years may have been in school, the Knicks palette on this sleek AJ XX3 has a strictly-professional look. via FC.T

We already had an Air Jordan Force XX (20), Air Jordan 1 inspired by the AJXX3 and a lowtop AJ1 for kids with laser etching on the straps and side panels. Aside from a Fusion XX3, the only possible place to go next with these parts is an Air Jordan 1 with AJXX styling. Just like the XX3-inspired model featured the more recent release’s signature side panels, this AJ1 adds bronze laser etching to the side panels and covers them with a translucent Swoosh. Black suede on the heel and red patent leather wings prove that hybridized Jays can look and feel quite natural. Expect a 2010 release for this one. via Osneaker

Jordans as it is sometimes known is a line of sneakers called Air Jordan created by Nike through it’s endorsement deal with Michael Jordan. Below is a brief history of Jordans.
In 1984 Nike had a serious problem on its hands, it was falling victim to the fast pace sportswear market. Nike was suffering from the “white man jogging brand” image and lacked any credibility in the basketball market. As Michael Jordan entered the NBA in 1984, Nike saw an opportunity and quickly signed him to a five year $2.5 million dollar deal. Nike soon introduced the Air Jordan 1 which turned the sneaker industry upside down. Before the Air Jordan 1 came along, basketball sneakers were mostly white, the Air Jordan 1 was a bold black and red which the NBA would banned from the league. Michael Jordan wore them anyway resulting in fines of upto $5000 a game, Nike happily paid those fines and in turn used this as a marketing opportunity. Since, the Air Jordan brand of sneakers has become the best selling basketball sneaker line since the Air Jordan 1.
The Air Jordan Legacy Numbered Signature Sneakers started with the Air Jordan 1 and ended with the Air Jordan XX3 (23), yet Brand Jordan as the company is known since Nike spun it off into its own company, put out the Air Jordan 2009 the latest sneaker that’s suppose to continue the Air Jordan Legacy Sneaker series. In 2010, Brand Jordan is planning the introduction of the Air Jordan 2010 around the NBA All-Star Game as it has done since the original Air Jordan 1.
Today, Brand Jordan puts out a large number of sneakers outside of the yearly signature sneakers, some of the more successful ones include the Air Jordan Spiz’ike, Air Jordan Six Rings, Air Jordan Sixty Plus. In 2008, Brand Jordan and Nike Air Force 1 created a series of sneakers that fuses the Air Force 1 and a numbered Air Jordan starting with the Air Jordan XII called the AJF 12. This series is officially “AJF” or Air Jordan Force, it is sometimes known as Air Jordan Force Fusion or Air Jordan Fusion.
Air Jordan sneakers are heavily collected and appreciates in value as with any other other collectible.

Air Jordan Force Fusions have been the most controversial topic amongst sneakerheads over the past two years, hands down. Purists point out that most of the silhouettes have to be radically altered to match the Air Force 1 sole and classics should be left alone, while others simply like the way they look and that they’re obtainable. We expect further fractionation of the community on this one, a sneaker that for now we’ll refer to as Nike Air Jordan 1/XX3 (23) Fusion, for obvious reasons. They add the AJXX3’s net embroidery to the AJ1’s side panels and throw a translucent Swoosh on top for good measure. Expected next year, you can already pre-order these from Osneaker.

Sole Collector got up with Upper Deck to authorize a series of signed shoes. Sneakerheads sent in their favourite Air Jordans for Mike to sign, infinitely increasing their value. There’s an interesting selection here including classics like the Air Jordan 1 and ‘Aqua’ Air Jordan VIII (8), all the way up through the titanium Air Jordan XX3. Check out the hologram-stamped lineup after the jump.
