There have been some pretty fresh looking pairs of Player Edition sneakers popping up here and there. With the surfacing of the Jared Jeffries AJ 5 – Away’s, we now look at the Home versions. Taking on a white upper, the orange accents on these samples don’t really do the Knicks’ team colors justice. Looking more of a red than Orange Flash, it only forces us to think about the Fusion 5’s that comes in a seemingly similar colorway. Nonetheless, its a rare find. Take a look after the jump at what rate of this particular pair is going for. via Shoesholic

The stars came out to watch Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in their only visit to the Big Apple this year on Friday night. Coming off of their elusive 27th World Championship win, several New York Yankees’ players were in the building to watch King James and the Cavs take on the Knicks. Included amongst the celebrities were Jay-Z, Alex Rodriguez, CC Sabathia, Joba Chamberlin, John Legend, Chris Tucker, Anthony Anderson, and more. Jay-Z, Alex Rodriguez, and CC Sabathia all sat courstide along side one another and were seen talking and laughing throughout the game. By the looks of things Jay-Z decided to keep it “all black” other than his Blue Yankees fitted, and when it came to his sneakers he went with a pair of classic 6″ Black Timberland Boots. A-Rod on the other hand looks to have worn the Nike “New Six” Air Force 1 Supreme Lebron James edition. Sabathia, whose known to wear various Air Jordan’s from time to time including while he’s pitching went with the Air Jordan I Retro Phat’s in the Boston Celtics colorway.

We’ve seen plenty of Nikes with that unmistakable Lakers look lately. The pair pictured above is a West-reppin’ addition to the Nike Rivals Pack, the Nike Auto Flight LE Quickstrike in purple and gold. The orange and blue Nike Auto Force 180 LE Quickstrike could go either way on the ‘Mets or Knicks?’ question, but we wonder if either of those teams is really anyone’s ‘rival’ these days. New York basketball fans might have to settle for this vulcanized retro refresh until they make moves to try and sign LeBron. Both of them are available on neutral territory at DC’s Major.

When the Nike Auto Force 180 came onto the scene a short while back, one of the first colourways we got an extended look at was the New York Knicks (or Mets) pair in blue leather with orange accents. Since the similarly vulcanized Auto Flight High is getting a Lakers colourup, this Chicago pair has us expecting something autoclaved in green to satisfy the Celtics fans. But for now, Chi-town is on high, covering this midtop in a variety of leathers and nubuck. Especially nice is the tonal safari print knap on the nubuck mudguard. It’s a can’t miss colourway and you can grab yours today from Finish Line.

Yesterday, we got a look at the Los Angeles version of the Nike Auto Flight and now it’s time to check out another shoe from Nike’s upcoming “Auto” series that reps for L.A.’s east coast rival, New York City. We previewed these back in June, but now we get a peek at some new images of the Auto Force 180. Like the Auto Flight, these kicks take the upper from Charles Barkley’s Air Force 180 and give it a new look thanks to a simplified vulcanized midsole. This Auto Force 180 takes on a New York Knicks color scheme, using a royal blue upper with orange accents and an NYC logo on the heel. Expect these to hit select retailers as a Quickstrike some time during the Holiday ‘09 season. Via HS.

The Nike Auto Flight High takes the Nike Flight Lite High and updates it with a vulcanized sole similar to classic models like the Nike Blazer. In the process, what used to be a performance basketball shoe has now been transformed into a streamlined lifestyle model. You may have already seen our previews of the Black/Red version and the Football Club edition, and now we bring you a look at a pair that sports a very identifiable color scheme. The combination of purple and gold can’t help but to bring thoughts of the Los Angeles Lakers. A few months back, we showed you an Auto Force 180 that sports a very New York Knicks-ish royal/orange color scheme, and apparently, these will be repping for L.A to keep the NY/LA rivalry alive in the sneaker world even if the matchup is a little one-sided these days in the NBA. You can check out more pics after the jump and be on the lookout for these to hit select retailers as a Quickstrike in September. Via HS.

Earlier today, we showed you a preview of the incredible Air Jordan VIII-inspired Air Hoop Structure and now we get a look at another hybrid model from the upcoming holiday ‘09 collection. You may have seen our sneak peek at the Auto Force 180 a few months back. The shoe takes the Air Force 180 design and fuses it together with a vulcanized Blazer midsole. This latest version pays tribute to the Big Apple with a Royal and Orange Mets/Knicks color scheme and a script “NYC” logo on the heel. Like the Air Hoop Structure, these kicks will be available some time later this year. We’ll keep you posted on the release info and you can check out another view of the kicks after the jump. Just when we thought Lil Penny had finally started to keep a low profile, he stormed back on the scene, appearing all over the Big Apple last week. It seems that the little guy couldn’t stay out of the spotlight as he tore it up courtside at the Knicks game and hit some hot nightlife spots. He also took some time out of his busy schedule to oversee the goings-on at the Nike Sportswear 21 Mercer store. Lil Penny stopped in to hang out, design an Air Force 1 and mingle with some of his adoring fans. This is no doubt just a warm up to the publicity blizzard he will have to endure in ‘09 as the Penny II, III and 1/2 Cent are all set to be released in multiple colorways. Be sure to check out Lil Penny showing his versatility in these pics by rocking a pair of white on white lil’ Air Force 1’s rather than one of his own signature models.
