It’s taken longer than we had originally expected, but finally, a clear shot of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 in the Black/Pink colorway! Right off the bat, you’ll notice that the Black/Pink colorway of the sequel carries a nearly identical profile to the original Air Yeezy; black upper, hot pink inner lining, a minty green outsole, but a closer look at the upper heel portion reveals a luxurious snake-skin like material with a solid heel-cap (perhaps Foamposite material?). The Black/Pink colorway is arguably the most popular of the all the released Yeezy colorways, and it’s in good shape to take that crown for the Yeezy 2. If you watched the MTV VMAs, you probably caught Kanye West wearing the Nike Air Yeezy 2 during the Otis performance. Kanye debuted what looks like a Zen Grey like colorway of the Nike Yeezy 2. Earlier in the year, Mr West showed off the first public view of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 at the 2011 Coachella festival. The iconic Air Jordan 1 will get a much different look in September, as Jordan Brand will introduce the Air Jordan Retro V.1 – a low-top Air Jordan 1 with a lifestyle-inspired vulcanized midsole and elephant-print traction taken from the Jordan Grown series. This upcoming Black/Cool Grey-White colorway features a black nubuck upper with micro-perforated panels, an elephant print swoosh, and black/yellow work-boot style roped laces. White Jordan branding on the tongue as well as the heel complete the look. Could the Air Jordan Retro V.1 be a sign of other V.1 version of other Air Jordans? Kanye West surprises us once again with the public debut of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 while performing the closer to this years Coachella. We previous saw just a glimpse of the Air Yeezy 2 in Nike/Kobe Bryant short film/commercial The Black Mamba. Just hours ago, Kanye gave the awaiting world the best view of the latest Yeezy yet during his performance but those watching live on youtube only saw them through the grainy live stream, and even those in attendance only had a distance view. Earlier in the week Eddie Cruz, Undefeated and Puma celebrated their upcoming collaboration with a launch party in New York City. This coming Sunday, both coasts will be celebrating the launch of the Undefeated x Puma Clyde “Stripe Off” sneaker collection with in store events. On the West Coast, the event will be held at Undftd La Brea from 12 to 6pm with drinks and tacos provided and a chance to win a pair of LA Lakers tickets. On the East Coast, the event will be at Stussy NYC from 12 to 2pm with drinks and snacks provided and a chance to win a pair of NY Knicks tickets.
