Nike Bespoke Experience by MAFIA of Sneaker Freaker

If you’re a consistent reader of Sneaker News, you’re familiar with our feeds of Bespoke iD productions. Unlike the adorned and long-missed 255 Studio that was invite-only, anyone can make an appointment for a rare Bespoke iD experience… if you have $820 lying around. But the results are extraordinary, being able to obtain colors, materials and features that are certainly unavailable through the regular Nike iD option and rarely even seen on Nike releases.

Sneaker Freaker’s very own, M.A.F.I.A., was in the States earlier this month on a slew of sneaker related events, including that of Sneaker Friends in Hotlanta. But before she headed back down under, a-must on the to-do list was going through to 21 Mercer for her own Bespokes to be manifested. While the pair is still in production you can check out her process and the choices she opted for; her influence being the Hot Lava Air Tech Challenge.  Check out the full review at SF, and stay tuned for the final result.

Nike WMNS Dunk Hi Supreme – Pink – Silver

Another strong release for the ladies.  At first what seems to be a hot pink canvas upper turns out to in fact be a textile with silver weaved into the underlay to create a grid-like speckle effect.  A nice accent for a bright summer shoe, especially complimented by the metallic silver Swoosh.  The tonal midsole adds for a clean look, rather than being hit was gratuitous white or some other random tone.  Available now at Wish ATL

Although some of the colorways of the Air Attack Pack are conducive of women’s releases, we haven’t seen Nike make any of them specifically in their sizes; until now. We gave a preview of the Air Attack Max Trainer 1′s a month ago and have laid low since. But behold, some of them are already available for purchase. The Black/Lyon Blue pair looks familiar as it is part of the preview from our last post. However the Metallic Silver/Cyber is new to us and it’s looking just as good as the other pairs. Though the Black/Lyon is the only one readily available on NikeStore, we anticipate the other colorways to pop up soon.

With a capsule as vast as the new Air Attack pack, you’d think it would start getting old quick.  But utilizing a number of Nike’s most successful models in irresistible colorways, its hard not to keep drooling over every set and only yearn for more.  Going strong in Nike Air Running and Training, we see the beginning of Basketball for the Air Attack Pack in these Air Max Hyperizes.  As expected the new-age bball shoe gets honored with the signature silver or black upper with bright accent color scheme as seen in the rest of the collection.  Each colorway is so distinct and emphasizes its individual look that its hard to decide on just one.  But while you contemplate, know that these are now up on NikeStore waiting for you to pull the trigger.

WMNS Nike Air Max 24/7 – Grey – Black – Violet

wmns nike 24 7 grey violet 00 WMNS Nike Air Max 24/7 Grey Black Violet

Yet another women’s pair that make dudes wish they had smaller feet.  As much as the community loves to bash on hybrids, the Nike 24/7 has gotten some good reviews with its mix of Air Maxes 95, 97 and 2009. The clever tooling makes way for amazing colorways, including the strong designs from the Air Attack Pack. But close on its tail of good looks is this grey/black/purple mix, which becomes an instant no-brainer for many of our readers. Too bad its in women sizes. Already out, it looks like ATL’s Wish has some of you guys covered with larger sizes.

Sneaker Con NYC May 2010 – Event Recap

sneaker con may 2010 recap 53 Sneaker Con NYC May 2010 Event Recap

As our readers may have expected, we bring you an extensive recap of this Spring’s Sneaker Con this past weekend.  If you couldn’t make it to the SoHo area, you’ve probably already gotten wind that you missed out on the massive turnout for the sneaker and apparel buy/sell/trade show.  Past attendees warned peers of arriving early to avoid the line; but it was inevitable as the line to enter the venue lasted almost the entire duration of the day, wrapping around the corner of Sullivan & Houston.

Once inside, the cumulative 1,100 in spectators lapped around the giant space to view the goods of 40 vendors.  Everything from vintage heat to more recent exclusives, tons of sneakers to feast your eyes upon.  A few tables even specializing in womens and kids feet to help round about the selection.  Apparel also available, indie labels sold their goods while others provided vintage Nike and Jordan clothing.  As if that wasn’t enough, almost all of the visitors came prepared with pairs in their arms and around their necks, trying to make some deals of their own.  The smart ones brought plenty of cash because there certainly was a whole lot to cop.

New this time around was a prodigious KAWS/Original Fake collection on display courtesy of NYC’s own Toy Tokyo.  Having huge success in recent times, it was a rare chance for people to see some of these rare items in person; some of which older pieces produced long before KAWS even became a household name in street culture.  Another must-see at Sneaker Con was adidas’ large booth showcasing a number of popular models- both old and new.  Rotating in their glass displays ranged from never before seen adidas Fortitudes to upcoming Jeremy Scott JS Wings that are expected for the holiday season.  Of course, another component that allured visitors to the adidas table was the chance to obtain vouchers for the limited special edition Sneaker Con tshirt.

Be sure to take a full look at the photo recap after the jump- many of you may catch a flick of yourself or someone you know.  And be sure to stay tuned for another post coming later in the day highlighting the feet of those who attended.  Don’t catch wreck if you missed out, stick with Sneakernews for news on a speculated third 2010 installment of Sneaker Con NYC later this year.
