Yet another scrapped Blazer High AC that is never before seen, this particular pair is also unique because of material application; whereas nubuck is such a common facet in footwear, it’s not seen on existing Blazer AC releases. The soft suede gives the shoe almost a completely different feel- from chic to guady. Maybe that’s the reason why Nike didn’t go through with it. But there is leather found on the stitch-contrasted Swoosh, and possibly on the straps. Though the layout may not be the best, this Dark Grey/Solar Red combo looks pretty fierce and we wouldn’t be surprised if Nike is putting this on the backburner for another model. A quick follow up to the last look of the new Brian Anderson Blazer. Part of the newest installment of Nike SB’s Custom Series, the notable lower mid cut of the Blazer is in fact black suede, rather than the initially speculated deep navy. The Orange of the Swoosh seems to tie in well with Anderson’s Dunk High in the 2006 Custom Series. It’s been confirmed for a June 2010 release, so expect these soon. Certain locations like Flatspot has them early if you’re low on patience.

Here’s an unreleased sample of a Nike Blazer AC High that we can see people either loving or hating. A unique take never seen on Blazer AC’s before, a waxed leather upper with perforations. What could make that concept better? The fact that the upper is an eggplant-like colorway, with the perfs revealing a bright volt underlay. The volt midsole might be a bit too much, becoming the fence between deciding a yay or nay for this design. Regardless, we’ll most likely never see these release. Of course, there’s always this particular sz 9 sample which you can find on eBay from solerevival777 on eBay.

Most people are focusing on the fact that Erik Ellington’s new sig shoe is biting off the classic profile of the Jordan VI. Throw a fit or now, its not really a bite than it is a tribute. After all, before Nike SB existed plenty of kids were riding in Jays. It just shows the brand’s smart conceptual developments and ability to read into consumers’ appeal. Regardless, Supra put enough thought and design into the Avenger for it to be a shoe of its own. You may have caught a quick glimpse of these during the Summer preview, but now we get a closer look. In white leather with small light grey accents, its takes its own look further away from the IV’s than the bred colorway. No word on a release dates, but expect them to come soon.

Concentrating on the Jack Purcell for its 75th anniversary, another collection has surfaced, very much on the glam side. Decked out in a full sequined upper, you have a choice of black, silver or navy. The midsole and collar trim are fit with synthetic textile in the same color as the sequins for a tonal upper effect. We expected to see these in womens’ sizes, but low and behold- the stock reads mens’ sizes. the generic profile of the shoe can easily become co-ed but we just find it amusing that it would be made specifically with the male in mind. As a platform of all that is footwear, we see a collaborations come and go. Some help evolve the industry, while most are simply gratuitous in hopes to cause some buzz. However, Reebok has teamed up with Emporio Armani for a collection that not only exemplifies a true concept behind a collaborative project, but also redefines the concept of lifestyle footwear. Hybrids sound like an old concept for our viewers; Jordans and Nikes fusions are derivative of athletic footwear to become a new look of another athletic shoe. But never have we seen cross-breeds like this.
The super luxury and high fashion aesthetic of Emporio Armani is applied with some of Reebok’s most signature technologies. Classic Italian laced shoes become equipped with DMX technology in the heel for extra support to create the Mega Chic. While the Pump Mega calls upon a traditional gusseted slip-on, featuring DMX heel units but also integrating Pump technology for extra customized fitting for the upper. The Pump Vintage and Vintage Runner provide for more casual sneakers, embossing a giant Emporio Armani logo on the medial panel of these casual tennis shoes. Staying conservative in colorway, the tonal white, cream and black provide for that authentic dress look rather than becoming too novelty or low-brow. A remarkable project this collection stands for that which is both modern and timeless in fashion ideology. Vans uses the illustrative skills of Hannah Stouffer for a new Vans Wellesey. Dubbed Obsessive Conbustion, the campaign came forth from Stouffer’s video production to interpret the human struggle of change and desire as seen in her piece, ‘Black Roses Tell a Story.’ While styling is very signature of Hannah’s work, we wouldn’t be surprised if people associate the imagery with these specific colors for a Pushead project. The confusion is qucikly clarified once you come across the specially designed box, also featuring the chaotic illustrative design, but also shoes Hannah’s branding on the top of the box. Already released, these are available at select Vans retailers as well as on the Vans web shop.

Vans Vault pays tribute to skateboarding’s original roots; hanging ten. The Surf Shaka pack consists of these SK8 Hi’s whose focal points lie in the graphic elements in the canvas paneling; a caricature form of the shaka, the Hawaiian gesture synonymous with all things cool, rides a surfboard. The rest of the upper consists of suede, colored in eith erblue or mahogany. You’ll notice that the blue pair’s graphics are a simple one-tone, while the other features a more realistic cartoon coloring. No word on any release info, but now that Vault is more exclusive than it once was, we can only imagine these will be rather hard to come across.
