The Nike SB Zoom Air Verona returned out of nowhere last week when Chet Childress’ collabo brought back the Elephant toe makeup with a Dark Obsidian upper. Here we see Nike Skateboarding’s slip-on shoe opt for a cleaner approach, as instead of the Air Jordan signature print, we get a simpler all-canvas build. The Pimento upper is a bold red shade that’ll spice up your summertime, whether you’re skating or taking advantage of the casual appeal. Last we’d seen from longtime Jordan Brand athlete Richard Hamilton, he was about to make a bunch of people happy with quite a few pairs of “Grape” Air Jordan V Retros for his closest associates. Rip goes a bit further this time, remarking “No one in my circle can wear nothing but Jordans. The last FC Real Bristol x Nike collaboration hit Japan in late December on a couple of mastermind co-signed Air Max 2012s. Prior to that, this fragment design x Uniform Experiment teamup had crafted a Solar Soft Sandal, and they must have liked the result because here’s another summer sneaker with the same sole stuff. The F.C.R.B. x Nike Solarsoft Waffle Cruiser will arrive at FCRB retailers this Saturday, May 25th in a couple of colorways that are similar to some seen on the Solarsoft smash hit Roshe Run. You might not be able to get your hands on these here in the States, so that exclusivity along with a $58 pricetag means these will go fast.

We’ve seen sneaker-related donations in the wake of the tragic 2013 Boston Marathon, and this latest boost comes from the classic American brand founded in a city just five miles from the finish line. Converse applies their iconic star logo inside a ‘BOSTON’ script across a Fenway Park green silhouette of Beantown buildings as the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star arrives for the sole purpose of supporting The One Fund Boston to help victims and their families. Columbus, Ohio’s Sole Classics gave us a good look at their Vans Vault Era “Carmen” with a video preview last week. Today we see a yarn spun that brings together the Buckeye State’s passion for football, their 1996 license plate design and a mysterious high school legend. The symbolism is deep here, including everything from the pebbled football leather heel tab to the removed Wikipedia entry for Jack ‘Ice’ Henderson. Sole Classics takes a simple classic and lovingly applies layers of detail in tribute to its home state, where these will be released this Saturday, May 25th with an online drop to follow that evening.

Interesting timing to see a new Nike Air Pippen 1 colorway make its first appearance on the date of the 2013 NBA Draft Lottery. The last time we saw Scottie Pippen’s first signature Nike Basketball shoe was last June, when its jewel-waved upper was treated to a Supersonics/ping-pong ball makeup. This latest revelation has nothing to do with tonight’s telecast, and a non-basketball theme makes for one of the more satisfying designs this model has seen. The Air Pippen goes with camouflage on the sides of a black nubuck design that adds an exclamation point with vibrant green branding and sole. No release date has yet been confirmed so stick with Sneaker News for updates.

Ostrich leather arrived as May’s Nike Air Force 1 iD special option, and today we have a handful of samples that demonstrate what’s possible with this notably nubby material. As you see from looking at these two fairly restrained colorways, both Air Force 1 High and Low are available in either traditional AF1 or Lunar Force 1 builds. Ostrich can be mixed with smooth leather to make the quill bumps even more striking, which is the whole point here with simple colorways adding a subtle if slightly wild twist.
