The adidas Originals EQT Guidance 93 has been very focused on releasing in quick pack-type set ups during its 2014 retro life. It was a little surprising then, when we saw the “Hero Blue” version with its gum soles and leather accents show up without any sort of companion pair. As it turns out, such a shoe is on the way in the form of the one featured above. Continue reading to see the other, aforementioned entry for what we’re calling the “Gum Sole” pack and give us a heads up in the comments if you’ve been enjoying the retro resurgence of this adidas EQT silhouette.

kicksology returns Kicksology.net Returns Ten Years Later

Before the age of social media, blogs, and YouTube, the digital sneaker world was comprised of three destinations – Niketalk, ISS forums, and Kicksology.net. The first two were, of course, community forums in which users could discuss sneaker releases, surprise finds, leaked photos (Anyone remember the Air Jordan XVI sketches popping up on NT?), but Kicksology was a beast of its own. The site was run by Ernest Kim aka Professor K., who provided the most thorough breakdowns of basketball shoes; it was the go-to source for basketball sneaker reviews, crisp photos of said shoes (those bland yet signature white background snaps were allegedly taken in his bathroom), and generally a place to kill loads of time while learning more about basketball design and performance through the eyes of a well-versed individual.

Kicksology shut down in 2004, taking its entire database of hoop shoe literature with it, but a few days ago Professor K (who’s been working at Nike for a minute) announced that it would be revived to some degree. Don’t expect new reviews (he’s leaving that to the new wave of experts), but rather the occasional bringback of an OG article in conjunction with a recent Retro, his other sneaker-related and unrelated thoughts, and much more from one of the most influential minds in the sneaker game. For the younger members in the sneaker community, consider this a real treat. For the older ones, yes – it’s been a full decade since Kicksology closed down. Keep your eye on Kicksology.net (he just republished his first Air Flightposite review from 2000), and let us know what you think of this “comeback”!

heart of the lion lebron 12 Back To Cleveland With The Nike LeBron 12 Heart Of The Lion

Home is where the heart is, and for LeBron, he couldn’t ignore the message any longer. LeBron will once again step foot on the Quicken Loans Arena as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and will likely do so wearing the LeBron 12 “Heart of the Lion”, which doubles as a Cavaliers “Home” colorway. The “Heart of the Lion” colorway, according to Nike Basketball Color Lead Eugene Rogers, comes from the daring color-blocking on the sneaker; the bright red MegaFuse upper stretches with every cut that LeBron makes, mimicking the natural movements of a beating heart. Look out for these to hit Nike Basketball retailers on October 30th, and check out this exclusive detailed gallery below.

Think you can pull off more trick shots than an NBA player? More specifically, James Harden? Foot Locker’s presenting you the opportunity to take the man down – all you have to do is record a video of yourself (Vine, Instagram, or Youtube) pulling off a sick shot or dunk and tag @footlocker #HorseWithHarden to get their attention. Harden will then select a group of submissions and attempt to stay alive without spelling out the word (y’all know the drill). Check out the video below for more details.

Saucony’s presence in the headlines is on the come-up, largely in part due to the great releases and collaborations coming our way. Kevin Durant’s got a lot going on this week; he’s got an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and a 25th birthday coming up this weekend, but soon enough all the fun will slow down as he gets ready to lead the OKC Thunder to the Playoffs.
