Sneakers specific tuned for outdoor play are sort of a dying breed at the moment, with not too many of the XDR joints and the like making huge noise here in the US at the moment. The category perhaps reached its peak back in the 90s, when companies were eager to cater to players who didn’t have access to real deal hardwood, a goal that also allowed them to inject some more “street” imagery into the associated campaigns. Helping tell the tale of outdoor basketball sneakers is this piece from Complex, which labels itself as a complete history of streetball sneakers. Did they hit all the key points? Check out some streetball models culled from the history books after the jump and let us know in the comments.

United Arrows is a Japanese fashion house that’s made a mark on the entire world in 2013. From their New Balance 1500s to collabs from child labels, United Arrows has positioned themselves as a master of low-key luxury. The latest example isn’t technically a collab, but rather, a rendition of the original adidas ZX 500 that features antique pre-yellowed midsoles and French tongue tag branding. These have arrived at select European retailers, and while they might hit stateside shops, you probably don’t want to wait now that they’re in stock at Afew.

The adidas Crazyquick was a sneaker very much in the national eye during March Madness time, thanks to finals of that tourney being an all adidas affair. Offering up more for the laymen is this colorway, a black/purple/teal combination that will be in stores come June 1st. Continue reading for some up close shots at this exciting Crazyquick look from adidas Basketball and give us a heads up in the comments if you’d had a chance to play ball in these yet.

Other wears across the weekend included a batch of Hyperfuse/Hyperdunk stuff for the strong looking Indiana Pacers, a random Nike LeBron X on the feet of one Manu Ginobli, and sightings of both the Nike KD V and the adidas Crazyquick for Memphis. Continue reading to see all the most compelling sneaker shots from this latest round of NBA Feet action and stick with us for updates on the road to the championship.

Most of the recent Gazelle releases including a nice number of 2012 releases have come in ‘OG’ form. Three Stripes changes things up a bit by opting for this adidas Originals Gazelle 2.0, but more important than the name is the material distribution. This Fairway and Green Zest Gazelle 2 is a perfect example of why the ‘tonal’ look is so popular, and it gains extra depth from the subtle contrast between canvas upper, suede toe/eyestay and leather Stripes. You’ll want to enjoy this elegant balance up close after the jump, then grab a pair straight from adidas.

Joining a couple other adidas Originals ZX 750s that just arrived at retail is another that utilizes a different blocking template. Whereas those others utilized more of a tonal approach, these new ZX750s opt for a bold yellow contrast on the Stripes and heel counter. This accent really pops from a grey/black base, but using a straightforward primary shade means these still have a classic vibe to them. Check out more shots below, then grab yours from Eastbay.

The accent shade in use on this latest adidas Originals Tech Super is called Warning, as in, this is one super-bright orange that you’ll notice for sure.
