Some of you may remember a new House of Hoops opening up down in Houston.  The Footlocker chain will be opening up another location in Mesquite, Texas; Town East Mall to be exact.  Replacing the existing Footlocker, House of Hoops will have its grand opening today, Saturday the 21st.  Debuting with a bang, the new HOH will have an array of heat on shelves, including a Hyperize “972″ PE.  Sporting traditional Cowboys colors, the Town East Mall exclusive is a perfect pair for anyone with strong Dallas pride- especially now with a new shop of fresh selects.  Along with the Dallas Hyperize, the new HOH also has in stock several other dope pairs, including the Ben Gordon Hyperize PE, Pau Gasol Hyperize PE, Rudy Gay  and Deron Williams Sharkaliad PE’s, and the highly anticipated Eddie Cruz AF1 High.

It’s always good to see creations conceptualized around a current season or its surroundings- like a mastered chef always changing his menu to adapt to tastes are in season.  But when it comes this theory when applied to shoe design, there’s always the risk that the end-result may look a little campy.  Nike drops these AF1’s to indicate the flurry of this upcoming winter.  Looking like a pair Santa would rock in a Coca-Cola commercial, the vibrant red dominating the shoe is broken up by a white midsole, lining and laces.  Also red the insole features an all-over pattern of tiny white circles, like a gentle snow fall, which can also be found on the tongue.  The snowflake motif is extended onto the laces, where snowflakes are embossed into the metal aglets.  Ho-ho-ho, a gift from Dunk.com.cn

We have steadily been keeping you up to date on the latest on the DJ AM Memorial Fund auction on eBay, and as you may be aware, a large portion of his collection has still not shown up for sale. If you’re wondering what else you can expect to pop up, you can get a glimpse of a couple gems that are now on display at Undefeated. To help raise awareness for the auction and honor DJ AM in the process, a glass case has been set up at UNDFTD Silverlake with a few of AM’s treasures like the N.E.R.D. Dunks and Rocafella and Black Album Air Force 1’s to name a few. The latest Air Force 1 Bespoke to come out of Nike Sportswear’s 21 Mercer space in New York City is this pair of AF1 Low’s designed by Eric Villatoro who chose to use a number of exotic materials and colors. Villatoro used a Purple nubuck on the quarter and heel of the shoe with the front of the shoe and toebox using a twister croc leather, also in Purple. For the Swoosh and heel of the shoe Eric decided to go with Nike’s iconic Safari print and he completed the shoe by giving it an Infared contrast stitch on the upper and midsole.

The Nike Air Yeezy sold out immediately wherever it was released, Kanye’s Louis Vuitton’s are super-expensive and the Air Jordan VIII ‘Aquas’ haven’t retroed in quite some time.  What’s a Mr. West biter fan to do?  The next best thing to the Aqua 8s might be these Air Jordan Force VIIIs (AJF 8).  The heel ribbing that sort of foreshadowed the AJXII sunray stitching is something we’ve never seen on an Air Force 1 sole, much less one with aquatone on the heel and toe and bright concord in between.  If you like those, you’ll love the AJF8 in the OG home colourway.  This pair features a perforated leather underlay that perfectly matches the AF1’s toe.  Expect these in February, with the Aquas splashing down in March.  via SC

The latest Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke is so shiny and slick looking, people will either think they’re wet or covered in lacquer.  Designed by Montonari Mikiya, these Bespokes use a black mix of shiny croc leather, patent leather, plus nubuck on the tongue and a Loopwheeler fleece lining.  The rear croc sections make for a sort of friendly fight with the clashing cuts through cement grey elephant print Swooshes.  Add a bright yellow MX sole and matching laces and these cannot be ignored.  Make your own statement with an appointment at 21 Mercer Street’s Bespoke lab.
