Air Jordan Fusion 4 Gas Mask by Freehand Profit

One meaning for the word ‘simulacra’ is an image without the substance or qualities of the original, so what happens when you take a non-original colorway, apply its key details to the body of an Air Force 1 Low and then chop that up to make something that looks like, but has none of the most practical benefits of a gas mask?  The simplest answer is that this is the newest example of the now daily growing body of sneaker art, the latest in a series of similar looks from artist Freehand Profit, who’s looking to convey the need for attention not only to fly kicks, but the state of the world around us.  Check out more angles after the jump and let us know how the sneaker gas masks rank against other sculptures and art pieces we’ve spotlighted here on Sneaker News.

Air Jordan Force Fusion X Shadow | Release Reminder

The Air Jordan Force Fusion line opened its doors in 2008 as a newfound niche in the sneaker collecting game, and while the overall reception to the Jordan x Force hybrids have been mixed, there are a few open-minded individuals that have embraced the idea and amassed a nice collection. All-new for the Fusion line is the Air Jordan X; not long ago the ‘Steel‘ colorway of the Fusion dropped, and for tomorrow, and equally memorable colorway in of ‘Shadow‘, which Jordan wore during his surprise comeback late into the ’94-’95 season, will be available. Cop these at your local Jordan Brand retailer tomorrow or make it easier by acquiring one now from eBay.

Air Jordan Force Fusion 10 – Black – Varsity Red – Dark Shadow

Even in a climate of wild hybridization, that the Air Jordan Force Fusion series still draws criticism from purists, is a testament to how much folks love the Air Jordan Legacy models.  How will the public receive this new Air Jordan Force X?  Its colorway closely follows the Air Jordan X ‘Shadow’ that most recently released as a part of the X/XX3 Countdown Pack, but the toe and ankle strap are definitely AF1 material.  These follow the Steel AJF10 in their perfect integration of the two shoes’ outsole designs, which finishes off the mashup design quite nicely.  Will you grab these when they hit store shelves later this month?  Click for a closer look at these new pics from LTD and pick up a pair of your own now on eBay.

Air Jordan Force Fusion IV (AJF 4) GS ‘Laser’ – Cool Grey – Daybreak – Black – Ink

Jordan Brand’s been putting a pronounced focus on Girls footwear and this latest Girls-only colorway of the Air Jordan Force Fusion IV should have the He-Man Woman Haters club steaming with jealousy. Fusion Jordans have been particularly embraced by the younger generation and this new colorway of Cool Grey, Black, and Purple tones look to be a hit with the little ladies this Holiday season; it featres a grey upper with a lighter shade of lasering on the upper, a black midsole light purple laces and inner lining, and dark purple accents around the shoe. These are surely one of the better Girls-only releases we’ve seen in a while, and now they’re available for purchase at select Jordan Brand retailers like Extra Butter, so take a look at the detailed shots after the jump and let us know what you think.

Air Jordan Force Fusion X (AJF 10) Steel | Release Reminder

Officially arriving tomorrow at Jordan Brand retailers is the first colorway of the Air Jordan Force Fusion X in the ‘Steel Grey’ colorway. The white, black, and grey color combination is one that’s easy on the eyes, but this pair also features the mini checkerboard print on the inner lining that was also a prominent feature on the Air Jordan X. The attention to detail on this latest Air Jordan Force Fusion cannot be ignored; the bottom sole seamlessly combines the Air Force 1 with the Air Jordan X and the lace-placket is also well-integrated into the mix. The strap also features the Air Jordan branding that was previously on the tongue – so while the placement has changed, the position has not. Some spots have released the Steel Grey Fusion X early but they will officially release tomorrow, so take another look after the jump and cop a pair now from shi2p on eBay.

Air Jordan Force Fusion X (AJF 10) Steel @ House of Hoops Paris

The newest combination platter in the Air Jordan Force Fusion menu is the Air Jordan X, Jordan’s first known retirement shoe (the Air Jordan IX was designed before MJ made his announcement). The most interesting feature of the Air Jordan X is surely the bottom sole, which details Jordan’s yearly achievements from his rookie campaign to his retirement, with 1994′s crowning achievement left somewhat blank with a ‘BEYOND’. What might seem like a farewell tribute to Michael Jordan was actually an open-ended good-bye, as Tinker himself stated the Jordan X design was with Jordan’s return in mind. That he did, as Jordan returned late in the ’94-’95 season (they really needed him, the Bulls sans-MJ were a .500 team for most of that season). It returns again in 2010 as part of the Air Jordan Force Fusion Collection, with the ‘Steel’ colorway being the first of such releases. The Steel AJF 10 is set for an October 9th release but House of Hoops in Paris will have them available on October 5th, so take another look after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for all Jordan Brand info and updates.

Air Jordan Force Fusion IV (AJF 4) Black Laser | Available Early on eBay

The Air Jordan Force Fusion continues to push forward as it touches base with one of the more limited Jordan releases of this decade; the Air Jordan IV Black Laser was an online-only release in 2005 but returns once more in Fusion form. When Sneaker News first dropped images of the Air Jordan Force Fusion IV Black Laser, many were happy that the Laser IV made its return, but wished it would have been in its original form. Needless to say, it caused considerable debate among Jordan purists and fans of Fusions, but in the end, these will see a release sometime later this year. You can, however, check out these new detailed images and pick up a pair early for yourself from chrome-knight on eBay.

Air Jordan Force Fusion IV (AJF 4) White Laser | Available Early on eBay

The Air Jordan IV Laser release of 2005 were certainly one of the more memorable Jordan Brand products of this decade – so how will the Air Jordan Force Fusion form fare? Here’s another look at the Air Jordan Force Fusion IV White Laser that is currently set for a release in October. There isn’t much different from the Jordan Retro form and the AJF form but for those who have yet to add Laser IVs to their collection, the Fusion release wouldn’t be a bad replacement. As expected, this released stirred up some debate but regardless of what may of been said, these are certainly one of the best Fusions to date. Take a look at the detailed images after the jump and grab a pair early from chrome-knights on eBay.
