We’ve all been there before-a sneaker you know and love finally gets the retro treatment, only to have the brand in charge drop the ball somewhere along the way. Which sneakers are in the most dire need of a true-to-OG bringback? Complex has listed up quite a few of them, with their demands including an Air Jordan III “Black/Cement” featuring Nike Air on the back, the return of the adidas Robert Haillet, the Reebok Shaq Attaq Insta Pump IV, and more. See a small sample of the sneakers right after the jump and then get the full list over at Complex Sneakers.

The Air Jordan V “Black Grape” will now release on June 15th. The sneaker’s coming out party has been pushed back just a little bit, perhaps to let the top of the month breathe a little bit more what with the two Air Jordan 1 ’93 styles arriving on the same day. So far the most coveted of retros from 2013 have been OG flavored ones, but we’ve got a feeling the Air Jordan V “Black Grape” will finally shake things up a bit and have folks trying to track down this flip on a classic JB colorway. Continue reading to see more on the Air Jordan V “Black Grape”, releasing on June 15th, and grab an early pair now from sneaker.money.movement on eBay.

Is there yet another brand new Air Jordan IV colorway coming in 2013? It sure looks like it, as these new photos are promising an Air Jordan IV with a muted colorway sort of in line with that of the “Green Glow” pair. The sneaker lands somewhere in between the Air Jordan IV “Cool Grey” and the Air Jordan IV “Oreo”-its midsole speckled while the upper keeps things pretty colorless. See more on this black/white/grey colorway right after the jump and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more images on the Air Jordan IV “Grey Cement”.

Would you want to see zebra on an Air Jordan retro? The most notable and perhaps only time that happened was a custom job that showed up at last year’s Sneaker Free Market event. The Air Jordan 1 we’re examining here was apparently intended for mass production, but for whatever reason, the release was nixed and only this sample pair remains. They were cast in one of the highest contrast colorways possible, blending purple, black and orange and even going two-tone on the laces. The signature element on this Jordan 1 Mid was the tonal stripes on the entire leather upper; not quite zebra, but every bit as bold and eye-catching. Let us know if you would have rocked these, and consider adding this rare Jordan 1 to your sample with a bid from jesusisbackintown on eBay.

Anyone here remember watching the 1993 NBA Finals between the Bulls and the Suns? Barkley and crew put up a pretty good fight, and if it wasn’t for a John Paxson three-pointer near the end of Game 6, the series would’ve gone to the seventh-game brink and who knows – Barkley might have a Championship Ring on his hand. While the colors aren’t entire of the PHX uniforms, this Air Jordan VIII is commonly referred to as the “Suns” colorway, pointing to the aforementioned Bulls/Suns match-up in the Summer of 1993. Cop these special Retros next weekend, or see what’s available right now on eBay.

2012′s “Galaxy” concept continues to have a strong influence with sneaker customs a year later. When will the Area 72 focus catch on? We’ve only seen a handful of Area 72-inspired customs hit our headlines, but we’ll add another one to the 2013 All-Star column with this Air Jordan IV “Area 72″ Custom by DMC Kicks. His most recent work featured on Sneaker News was a remixed “Easter” version of the Nike LeBron X, but this time around he adopts an existing concept seen in the Barkley Posite Max release with the black/red upper, hints of purple, and the white fragment print on the upper. More of the Air Jordan IV “Area 72″ is just below, so take a look and stay tuned for more custom sneaker updates.

The iridescent “Invisibility Cloak” look has nearly completely disappeared (How apropos) after the frequent treatment it had across Swoosh styles in 2012. Reviving the look is this piece from Overdose of Opulence, an Air Jordan III styled up to go with the “Invisibility Cloak” theme. The color shifting look is slapped on via the sole tooling, the back tab, and the Jumpman, with the base of the sneaker getting outfitted in jet black. Interestingly enough the pair actually started off as worn down Air Jordan III “Pure”, which was definitely given a second lifetime via this custom. See more after the jump and tell us if you approve of the Air Jordan III “Invisibility Cloak”.

Remember when Kendrick Lamar said he used to want to be like Michael Jordan? It looks like K Dot still harbors some of those feelings, as the much buzzed-about West Coast rapper has been keeping up with the retro releases-evidenced by his Air Jordan V wear here. Then again, Michael Jordan couldn’t be seen wearing the Air Jordan V “Grape” too often, so maybe this particular colorway doesn’t apply. Continue reading to see all the photos of Kendrick Lamar wearing the “Grape” Air Jordan V right after the jump.
