Nike Sportswear introduced the Nike Air Max 1 EM as a refresher for the iconic Air Max 1 silhouette. Since its release, Nike embarked on an ongoing celebration of the reinvented Air Max 1, with the latest arrival being this incredible 1-of-56 Nike Air Reinvented 1987 Limited Edition Packaging. Featuring the Nike Air Max 1 EM packed inside a sealed bag, each of these units are individually hand-numbered, with custom insoles noting the lucky recipients of this well-through-out arrangement. Safe to say that Mr. Armstrong won’t be making a return to Nike anytime soon, but we can’t help but associate anything with a Black/Yellow to the LIVESTRONG releases that have come out in the past. Regardless of the fact, this Essential-grade Air Max 1 just dropped at Nikestore, and it’s hard to resist considering the original-style color-blocking, and we’d like to be point out that the LIVESTRONG charity is still going strong (so don’t hesitate to chip in when you can). After an initial release at certain spots overseas, the Nike Air Max “HomeTurf” Collection is indeed coming to the states, with each “City” being released in consecutive weeks. Nike’s starting things off with the “Milan” Pack, which features the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Air Max 97, and Air Max 2013 in awesome colorways and materials. Nikestore and 21 Mercer are confirmed release locations, so keep those spots in mind when these go up for grabs tomorrow or skip the lines and get one of the already-released pairs on eBay.

The upcoming 4/20 “holiday” has served as a channel for some of the most memorable themed sneaker releases over the last few years, with most of the sticky kicks coming from the skate-shoe category. The Nike SB Dunk High “Skunk” is undeniable one of the most memorable of all-time, so Air Max creative JWDanklefs (or Dank for short) teamed up with Decade Footwear and rolled up this sick Nike Air Max 1 “Skunk” Custom, featuring the familiar green/purple colorway of the ’87 silhouette. The shoes are a one-of-one and will go up for sale via auction tomorrow night and will run for one day, with overnight shipping bringing the shoes to the customer just in time for the weekend festivities. What will the Nike Air Max 1 be up to later on in 2013? Following up on the all the OG treatments that happened in the first half of the year, the sneaker looks to be suiting up in a set of all new colors for the latter. Granted not all of them are new to the Nike Air Max line as a whole, as one of the ’87s in here looks a lot like the classic “Neon” colorway of the Nike Air Max 95 (One that’s been ported over before thanks to Dave White). So Nike Sportswear’s been putting out 101 colorways of the Nike Air Max 1 every season or so, and while it may seem like overkill, they haven’t missed with a colorway yet. This Black/Midnight Turquoise colorway placed on this Essential-grade model is a head-turner for sure, with that “Hold Tight” combo of Black, Grey, and White given a nice boost with Midnight Turquoise and the lighter aqua hue on the outsole, Air unit, and lace eyelet above.
