Nike Air Max 24/7 – Sneak Preview

We’ve seen plenty of Nike hybrids this year and though this is one of the last ones most purists would have asked for, we get a new perspective on how similar the original designs actually were. Through the lens of the new Nike Air Max 24/7, it’s easy to see how the OG Air Max 95’s tiered tonal greys gave way to the sweeping reflective lines that encircled its successor, the Air Max 97.

Their offspring uses a 95 silhouette that modifies the upper’s tiering by making it smoother/flowier. About halfway down, the AM97 mudguard kicks in, separated from the rest by a familar reflective 3M piping. If we go a bit further, it seems that another Air Max runner has been incorporated, and this time it’s the Air Max+ 2009’s 360 degree Air cushion. Black and orange is the stereotypically Halloweeny colourup, but it’s pretty amazing how far from that you can get with just a little bit of blue. Instead of Jack-O-Lantern-like, this latest pair of Nike Air Max 95s comes off looking like the bizarro Denver Broncos. The intricate pattern on the middle tier adds to this pair’s unique identity. Like alot of good AM95s, these are a JD Sports exclusive drop.

We got a glimpse at another JD Sports-exclusive Nike Air Max 95 earlier today. That one went heavy on black with blue and orange accents, whereas the pair pictured above is a little closer to what seems to be their favourite combination: blue, grey and black. They stick to the darker side of this trio, following the gradient down from a pearly greyish white through two shades of obsidian and then black on the bottom. After a year of Retro-inspired colorways, the Air Max 95 will be getting a luxurious new makeover scheduled for 2010. Here we get a look at a premium looking version of the classic shoe that uses a combination of interesting materials on the upper. In addition to sections of Creme-colored leather, Grey synthetic suede and Black mesh, the shoe also sports two different shades of Metallic snakeskin print to give the Air Max 95 one of its most deluxe looks yet. A clean White midsole and two-toned braided laces add the final touches to what will likely be a welcomed addition to the AM95 arsenal when they hit stores next spring. Via Glltn.

Celebrity Feet: Eminem, Ludacris, Wale & More – 2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors Show

Last night VH1 put on it’s 2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors Show which will air on VH1 on October 13th, 2009 at 9 PM (EST). When the red carpet was rolled out a number of different artists showed up with their families and friends including Wale, Gym Class Heroes, KRS-One, Fabolous, Ed Lover, Flavor Flav, Tracy Morgan, and more. A number of artists also performed at the show including Eminem and Ludacris who both wore some heat on their feet. Eminem pulled out an old pair of Nike Air Max 95’s while Ludacris decided to go with the Air Jordan V Retro from the Toro Bravo Pack that was released earlier this year. While Em and Luda both had heat on during their performances the real heat goes to the aformentioned people on the red carpet including Wale who wore the recently released Air Jordan VII Retro “Toronto’s” from the AJ VII DMP 60+ Pack, Travis from Gym Class Heroes had on a pair of the recently released Anthracite, Black, and Hot Red Air Griffey Max 1, and of course Ed Lover who brought out the Nike x ?uestlove 1World Air Force 1’s.

Nike Sportswear New Releases @ 21 Mercer St.

That’s quite a spread we see above. Nike Sportswear’s 21 Mercer St. flagship store in New York just got a run of new kicks. These five represent some of the Swoosh’s best all-time designs. From left to right we have a Pittsburg Steelers-looking Air Force 1 Low, then three Air Max runners. The Air Max 2009 rocks a black, grey and blue colourway that’s similar to the Air Max 90 Current to its right, just a different shade of blue. A new Air Max 95 fades from a white midsole up to a black tongue, adding bright red accents to the flipped script. Last but not least is the Air Max Goadome boot in black leather. All of these are available at 21 Mercer and other NSW retailers.
