The name Matt Stevens should certainly ring a bell if you’re a loyalist of Nike’s original Air Max series. His Air Max 1 tributary book called the MAX100 Project displayed his personal favorite sneaker in one hundred different formats by his own interpretations. To celebrate to reinvention of Air Max and the debut of the new Engineered Mesh, Nike Sportswear teamed up with Matt to create #AIRMAX, which expands his already impressive Air Max 1 illustrations into the territory of the Air Max 90, 95, and 97, pinpointing the design inspiration, color, culture, and reinvention of each sneaker. Check out some of his artwork below and be sure to check on the #AIRMAX project on the Nike Sportswear Facebook Page.

The Air Max 2013 recently took the spirit of the Nike Air Max 95 by adapting the iconic Black/Grey/Neon colorway on the upper for its inclusion in the ‘Heritage Pack’. The just goes to show how much clout the Air Max 95 has not only among consumers, but inside the walls at Nike as well. Since its conception in ’95, the Air Max 95 has been presented to us in various shapes and forms and an uncountable number of colorways, but we’re still hit with a nice surprise – like this interesting combo of Vivid Sulfate yellow and Squadron Blue. The clean ‘Pacers’ style colorway is nice indeed, but check the uppermost ‘rib’ and you’ll notice a unique graphic of a weave of some sort. More angles are just below so take a look and cop now over at the Foot Locker EU online shoppe.

After last month gave us two more colorful renditions, the Nike Air Max 95 Dynamic Flywire returns to the OG grey + accent color for this newest release. March’s first AM95DF release is reminiscent of a few Photo Blue styles in that original grey-dient releasing in 2009 and ’10, but clearly stands apart from those drops thanks to the namesake reinforcement cables and a full-length Max Air cushion. Let us know where these rank in the short but impactful history of the Air Max 95 Dynamic Flywire after you’ve seen more images below, then grab yours at Nike Sportswear dealers like Social Status.

The Nike Air Max line has long been a favorite out in Europe and the bubble bottom sneakers are a frequent sight on the streets of any given metropolis across the pond. Celebrating Europe’s embrace of Tinker’s innovation is the new Nike Air Max ‘Home Turf’ collection. The group consists of three separate collections paying tribute to London, Milan, and Paris, respectively. Included are a few OG silhouettes like the Nike Air Max 1 and the Nike Air Max 90, but the set is dominated by hybrid and newer styles such as the Nike Air Max 2013, which even sees its bubble borrowed in the brand new Nike Air Max 1 2013 and the Nike Air Max 97 2013. Continue reading to get a full look at the entire set, which launches at select NSW spots on February 15th, with a wider release scheduled for March 27th.

The Nike Air Max 95 Dynamic Flywire has shown us a variety of looks patterned after the original white/grey/black gradient design. The latest two retail releases have taken that formula and flipped the script, applying bold monochromatic tiering in red and blue to the DYN update. Both of these are head-turners, but the Gym Red and black edition is a bit more aggressive whereas the Ultramarine and Solar Red pairing offers a cooler but equally energetic approach. Let us know which of these you prefer after checking out more images below, then find them available at Nike Sportswear stockists like Extra Butter.

The ongoing celebration of the history of Air Max continues with this surprising collaborative release between Nike and Japan’s mita sneakers. Somewhat in conjunction with the release of the Japan-exclusive Air Max Chronicle magazine, mita sneakers has created a special rendition of the original Air Max 95 ‘Neon’ using a black inner lining and tongue, a special AIR MAX insole that throws back to the OG boxes, and a sick UENO embroidery on the inner lining of the shoe (something we saw with the earlier City Attack and Air Force 1 releases done by mita). The Air Max 95 is considered to be the axis of the ‘cult Air Max’ sneaker, as mita details the journey of Air Max and this model in particular in the Air Max Chronicle issue, but it all culminates tomorrow with this incredible release. A detailed gallery is just below, so take a look and let us know what you think about the subtle changes made for this collaborative project.
