Faux denim’s been a big hit with Nike recently. The Nike Dunk High FFF Pack, Air Max 90 in three colorways, and even two SB releases in the Dunk High and Harbor have featured the funky material. This new colorway of the Air Max Light features faux denim in black on the upper, matched with a nubuck swoosh and a mesh toe-box and ankle collar. Throw in a tonal black midsole and Childrens Blue (do NOT confuse this with Adults Blue) on the Nike Air insignia on the heel, the tongue label, Max Air unit, and on a fragment of the outsole. JDSports has these in stock so peep the gallery of images below and let us know if this faux-denim Air Max Light is something you’d consider adding in your rotation.

When it comes to summertime kicks, you’re looking for style and comfort, preferably in a lightweight and cool package, and what Nike Sportswear retro running release better reflects these desires in name and execution better than the Nike Air Max Light? The AM Light is still something of a cult favorite here in the US thanks to many of the best releases remaining European exclusives, but this new duo is sure to draw its fair share of attention when they hit store shelves shortly. One model has quite an intense look with Alarming Red accents setting off the otherwise black design while another in neutral grey with Photo Blue and Neo Lime hits has a bit of the ‘Sprite’ look. Quench your thirst for more images by clicking on the jump below and grab a pair (or two) today from Kix-Files.

How can one of Nike Running’s former Air Max flagships become a sleeper hit? With the Nike Air Max Light, it’s a case of many top releases being limited to Europe, so while the internet blesses us with the ability to get them here in the States (albeit with a shipping premium), you simply don’t see these on store shelves in the US all that often. And depending on your perspective, that’s either a shame or a great way to turn heads with simple yet satisfying colorways like this Neutral Grey getup that adds Photo Blue and Neo Lime accents to echo both the late’80s/early ’90s ultrabrite trend and the coming transition from spring into summer. Click through to have a closer look at these and grab yours from Kicks-Crew.

A little history: The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Homegrown’ was a collaborative release with Patta and State magazine of Amsterdam back in 2007, in which the publication teamed up with Nike to produce a limited run of Air Max 90s in a green/orange/white colorway (there’s also a reverse-blocked Hyperstrike version, but we’ll save that for another day), inspired by the recreational activity so prevalent in the magazine’s home country. Sneaker customizer JWDanklefs took that idea and ran with it on the Air Max Light, painting the entire upper with grass green, matching the orange inner lining and laces and the gum outsole to complete the ‘Homegrown’ appeal. It’s common for customizers to bring special edition colorways onto other models – the South Beach Jordan VI being a prime and recent example – and we say the Air Max Light ‘Homegrown’ is the best we’ve ever seen in concept and execution. There’s a nice detailed gallery below so take a look and let us know if you’d cop of these released.

The Nike Air Max Light doesn’t get much shine, so Sneaker News was more than happy to feature it in one of our Classics Revisited features. We showcased an original pair of the Nike Air Max Light, offering details and images not seen much elsewhere, but unfortunately since then, the Air Max Light went back into hiding, making way for the more popular and well-known releases. The Air Max Light is one of many Nike classics that don’t get the necessary shine, so it’s extra special when a new colorway drops, like this Black/White-Pink get-up that just hit Switzerland’s Titolo. Take another look after the jump because Lights are hard to come by as it is, and don’t miss out on this release!

The past couple years have been dominated by conservative and tonal colorways, last year in particular being a calendar full of black, grey and white. Well here’s a new Nike Air Max Light and while its construction is almost entirely tonal grey, the South Beach-style accents remind us of another theme sweeping through Nike designs of late. And while we’ve come to label pretty much anything with teal and pink as MIA-inspired, it’s also worth noting that the teal on these anchors them to a wide range of denim shades. Click through to get a better look and grab yours today from Titolo.

Ladies sneakers have become increasingly subtle in their femininity of late but here’s a look at two new pairs that get back to the old school in both model and coloring. The Nike WMNS Air Max Light is pictured above in a pair of new palettes that aren’t exactly pink-n-shrink, but there’s zero chance of mistaking them for a mens release as well. That’s thanks to a glittery finish on select elements that adds some life to the black/white/pink pair and helps the Aqua joints shimmer like a sunny day at sea. Check out both pairs in close-up shots after the jump and grab yours today in advance of the retail drop from Kicks-Crew.
