Some sneakerheads have a strict policy when it comes to sneaker trades: brand new for brand new. But what if you throw in a very-near-deadstock…car? We already know about the massive camp-outs and Nikestore backing out of the Galaxy Foamposite online release, but based on this recent trade proposal made by a sneakerhead located in the five boroughs of New York City, we can sum up with this famous quote from Bad Boys II: #$%& just got real. With the Galaxy Foamposites proving to be one of the toughest pick-ups in recent memory (perhaps reaching that level of Pigeon SB Dunk pandemonium), it’s time to up the ante if a retail pick-up is no longer a viable option, but offering up a tangible good known for its miles-per-gallon might be stretching it a bit. What makes this trade proposal a bit more humorous is that the car’s overall appeal exudes that ‘Galaxy’ motif thanks to the purple paint job and blue Chevy logo, but here’s the real question – would you trade your Galaxy Foamposites for four wheels and a steering wheel? This is about as interesting of a debate we’ll ever see, so check out the full listing below and let us know your thoughts. via CL

With the upcoming release of the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’ stirring up a level of hysteria not experienced in quite a while, many sneakerheads have embarked on a week-long camping trip in front of House of Hoops locations nationwide. 21 Mercer, which is confirmed for a release this Friday, avoided the release night eve fiasco by handing out wristbands on Monday, attracting a mass crowd within minutes of publicizing the info on Twitter. Many sneakerheads, however, could not bear the campouts or crowds and relied on luck when the Galaxy was to hit Nikestore, but here’s the bad news; Nikestore has confirmed via Twitter that they will not release the Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’ online. Are they making this an in-store release, allotting stock to other locations, or trying to avoid another episode of midnight-release madness (see: Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’)? With Nikestore out of the running (House of Hoops locations and other select Nike Sportswear accounts will receive them), it’s time for y’all to start preparing soon, because this just might be the most chaotic release of the year.

Having long-been considered a spaced out sneaker design wise, the Nike Air Foamposite One is embracing that categorization with the upcoming All-Star version. The tone has been set for these early on, with lineups and campouts forming over the weekend. That should let you know that they aren’t exactly going to be sitting on shelves, but they might not be as severely limited as initially perceived, with pairs available at spots like House of Hoops and Millennium Shoes out in CA. Follow us after the jump for some extra shots of the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’ which will be impacting this Friday, Februay 24th. Also, let us know in the comments below if you’ll be scheming on picking up a pair for yourself.

It’s crazy to think that a single shoe like the Air Jordan IV White/Cement caused nationwide campouts and ‘maintenance’ for online sneaker stores, but that certainly wasn’t the case for all the popular and coveted sneaker releases of the last decade. Shoes listed in this week’s Best of WDYWT are certainly more prized, like the rare Parra x Air Max 1 Hyperstrike, the Air Jordan IV ‘Thunder’, and even older gems like the Nike Son Of Glove, but with the sneaker community growing by the day, these sneakers have become more and more priceless as they begin to age. Nobody knows what the sneaker horizon will be like in the next few years, but just know that the twenty listed here are certified gems. Check out this week’s Top 20 from Sneaker News Blogs: WDYWT and vote for your favorite of the bunch.

New York Knicks super-fan Spike Lee is recognized for being decked out in the best NY Knicks gear there is, but on Friday and Sunday, the Knicks’ last two games, Spike Lee went back in time to bring out some vintage Jeremy Lin in the form of his Palo Alta H.S. and Harvard jerseys. On Friday, Spike wore the Green/Black/White jersey at the request of Jeremy’s High School coach (according to NBA), and matched it with a neon green undershirt and the Electric Green Foamposite Pros. He followed that up with the Crimson red Harvard jersey, pairing that one with the Metallic Red Foamposite One, but don’t accuse Spike of jumping on the Harvard bandwagon; he taught a class in the early 90′s at the Ivy League school. Which Foam x Jeremy combo is more “Linsane”? Check out the Spike after the jump and let us know.

The annual NBA All-Star Game has served as a righteous platform for some of the greatest sneakers ever, and with Nike stepping it up a noticeable notch with the ‘Galaxy’ theme, it would be entertaining to look back at some of the best All-Star footwear of all-time. Luckily for us, Kicks Lounge in China held a special All-Star themed event, previewing the upcoming Nike Basketball and Jordan All-Star Collection and taking a trip down All-Star memory lane; the best Air Jordans, Nike LeBrons, Nike Zoom Kobe, and Nike Basketball were all up for display in a ‘history lesson’ of sorts, placing Michael’s earliest All-Star selections like the Air Jordan III Black/Cement and LeBron’s ‘Remix’ in the spotlight. Does the upcoming ‘Galaxy’ collection have the gumption to be considered as one of the best All-Star sneakers? Check out this nice recap of the All-Star Showcase @ Kicks Lounge and stay tuned to Sneaker News for some more NBA All-Star sneaker features this week! via hk-kicks

Sneakerheads are chomping at the bit for next week’s release of the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’, and with Sneaker News showing you detailed images as well as ‘on-feet’ angles, the wait is becoming unbearable! The perfect alignment of events occurred to make the Galaxy Foamposites a reality; with the All-Star Game being in Orlando, Nike Basketball created the supernova/space travel theme (the Kennedy Space Center is just an hour away from Orlando), so attaching it to the shoe made famous by one of Orlando’s greatest players in franchise history seemed to be the perfect fit. Talks of week-long campouts are already trending topics in sneaker forums, so what will you do to get the Galaxy Foams in your hands? Let us know in the comments section below and if you’ve got the extra dough to cop these early, check out the asking price for this pair from mr_deadstock on eBay.

With the horizon of footwear releases being a balanced mix of quantity and quality, it takes something truly “out of this world” to get sneakerheads out of the woodworks and intensely prepare for a sneaker release. Sneaker News readers and forum regulars are already discussing tactics of acquiring a pair (expect to camp out), and with re-sale prices anticipated to triple or quadruple in price, getting a pair on release date has become all the more imperative. Needless to say, the upcoming ‘Galaxy’ theme for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game is the perfect match for the two; thirty of the leagues best stars convene in one location every year for a massive stellar explosion of on-court theatrics, and with Orlando being the host for this highly-anticipated event (just a stones throw from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center), the combination of an impressive concept and the single most hottest Nike sneaker commodity out right now should spell ‘history’, because the Galaxy Foamposites will go down as one of the best sneaker releases of the year. Of course, Sneaker News brought you a first detailed look at this red-hot release, and now we bring you the ever-popular ‘On-Feet’ approach, giving you a look at how awesome these will appear when you wear them on your own. Got plans of copping the Galaxy Foams? Let us know if these are a must-have for you and stick with Sneaker News for more updates and information regarding this hot release.

What do these upcoming Foamposites and New York Knicks phenomenon Jeremy Lin have in common? They were both previously affiliated with Golden State. Credit the Warriors front office for giving the Harvard geek a chance at the NBA in the first place, but with GSW’s already stacked backcourt, there simply was no room left for Lin to get some burn. As Lin has stated numerous times in post-game interviews, it was divine intervention that got him to where he is now (winnin’ and thrilLIN’), and similarly, you can expect regret of hellish proportions if you decide to pass on these beauties. Enough about Lin and more about the shoes; these Electrolimes have the tough task of being the following act to the upcoming Galaxy Foamposite release, but don’t expect any sort of slump because these are certain to fly off shelves. We’ve got a detailed look for you below courtesy of AGS, so take a look and cop a pair in advance on eBay.

Just yesterday Sneaker News showed you Wale wearing two of marquee All-Star Weekend release, the Galaxy Foamposites and the Air Flight One ‘Glow In The Dark’, which should’ve raised even more excitement on the supernova-inspired releases. Don’t forget about the OG ‘Orlando’ colorway either, because these will be as much of a coveted item when all the 2012 All-Star releases hit stores next weekend; much like the Air Go LWP that dropped last year, the Air Flight One has been zeroed in on by Nike Basketball purists who thoroughly enjoyed the Zoom Rookie LWP and what it hinted at We’ve got new images of this upcoming release below so take a look and let us know if you prefer the OG ‘Orlando’ or the energetic Glow In the Dark better. via evianchow
