Sneaker Free Market South Korea Event Recap

Did you catch the event recap of the Sneaker Freaker Swap Meet? It’s definitely worth a look if you want to get a look at sneaker scenes on the other side of the world, but before you head over there, check out another event on the Eastern Hemisphere – the Street Dreams x Sole Exposition ‘Sneaker Free Market’ in South Korea. One of the main attractions at the event was an amazing showcase of customs sneakers done by a collective called The Creakers, who completed a sick Nike Air PR1 x Air Yeezy ‘Net’ custom (complete with a glow-in-the-dark outsole and upper). Another custom worth checking out was the Air Jordan XI with the white/black zebra-like print (or like the Daktari Dunk Lows from a decade ago). Flip through the gallery below and let us know which customs you like best! Photos: IST

Nike Air Yeezy 2 Sneakercube

Barring any other postponement or cancellation, the June release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 will likely be the biggest sneaker release of the year, causing Nike to go into a tailspin by completely overhauling its sneaker release procedures in preparation of the release. Sneaker News has done its best to keep you updated with release information and developments, and with the latest issue of Sneaker Freaker featuring the Air Yeezy 2 on its cover, the scheduled June release looks a bit more concrete than it did one day ago. However, Sneaker Freaker presents the Air Yeezy 2 in a slightly altered format, compressed into a six-sided cube with each facade showcasing the details of the sneaker. You can snag your copy of Sneaker Freaker here so check out the full cover with Sneakercube Yeezy below and stay tuned for more updates!

Nike Air Yeezy Grey Black Fire Red | Unreleased Sample

Today’s Air Yeezy news isn’t exactly “good” news. While we did provide you with a detailed look at the Pure Platinum colorway of the Air Yeezy 2, some further confusion regarding the release did spill out. While it’s unknown where the Yeezy 2 saga will go from here, here’s a look at a Yeezy that you’ll definitely never get your hands on – this unreleased sample of the original Air Yeezy in a tasty colorway. We saw some shots of these stunners years back and now we get another peek thanks to Nike Basketball’s Tung Ho, who is no stranger to breaking out some enviable Nike sample heat on his TungHova Tumblr page. Sink your teeth into another Yeezy that never was and let us know where you think these rank compared to the three colorways that hit store shelves.

Nike Air Yeezy 2 Pure Platinum Detailed Look

With the original Air Yeezy drop coming and going without any major issues (unless you count the extra cautious consumers who copped theirs in surgical masks to avoid the equally time capsule-worthy bird flu), the most drama-filled release date in Kanye West’s career was back in 2007 when the launch of his album Graduation competed head to head against 50 Cent’s third full-length. After much trash talk leading up to the September 11th showdown, Kanye crushed Curtis, Fiddy was forced to back down from his retirement guarantee and Mr. West has been the brightest star in every building he’s entered since.

The Nike Air Yeezy 2‘s release saga might go down as even more of a rollercoaster ride, this multi-delayed super-collabo now appearing in some of its most revealing images yet as the very photographer who posted them also tweets that Nike has ordered his stock returned. So while we get a supremely detailed look at the ‘Pure Platinum’ Yeezy 2, we’re left wondering when we’ll have a chance to inspect the hidden messages inside the velcro strap and beneath the insoles. It’s crazy to think Nike Sportswear would consider cancelling a release with this much demand, but we all remember what happened with the ‘Galaxy’ Air Foamposite One this February. Let us know what you think about this latest bump in the road to Air Yeezy 2 and stick with Sneaker News to find out if and when these will ever hit retail.  Photos: mikeyman14

Nike Air Yeezy 2 Shoebag Details

The Nike Air Yeezy 2 isn’t just some wild looking sneaker designed by arguably the most famous rapper alive. It’s an ultra-premium lifestyle sneaker whose inevitable markup on the secondary market shows its true value while the MSRP itself reflects the level of quality and detail that goes in to constructing a pair. Take for example the Air Yeezy 2′s dustbag, a nylon enclosure that features a Nike Sportswear on one side opposite the Yeezy 2′s Horus insignia. That bag closes with laces just like the ones that go into the Air Yeezy 2 itself and shares those same distinctively squared metal aglets.  We’ve known to expect those as a luxurious finishing touch on this shoe for some time, and today, for the first time, we see also that these distinctive lace tips can screw right off. What this means is that not only does the Yeezy 2 push the envelope on premium metal-tipped laces, but we might also be seeing the first signs of what’s about to be a massive flood of new accessories for kicks as these kinds of laces (and add-ons to fit them) become more popular. Let us know what you think about these unique Nike Air Yeezy 2 details while you’re inspecting more images below and stick with Sneaker News for confirmation of the official release date.
