Browsing the "Air Yeezy" Category
The Air Yeezy is a collaborative sneaker created by the team up of rapper/producer Kanye West and Nike. To date there are two separate versions of the Nike Air Yeezy, with the first releasing in 2009 and the Nike Air Yeezy 2 releasing in 2012. Each colorway has been met with wild anticipation, massive lineups, and eventual sellout success.

If NBA Feet couldn’t get more exciting, think again; Nate Robinson put his Air Jordan XIIs on reserve and whipped out the Black/Solar Red colorway of the Nike Air Yeezy 2. Does this sighting make him the NBA Feet MVP of the season? He’s a definite candidate, but don’t count out the other regulars because they’ll be coming hard with their on-feet selections for the remainder of the season. It was a rather quiet last two nights, but check out Nate and the rest of NBA Feet below and stay tuned for more of the best coverage of NBA kicks as we near the Playoff rounds.

Before you realize it, the NBA regular season will be over, and the Sneaker News staff will have to think long and hard about which player will be crowned the MVP of NBA Feet. Nate Robinson is a candidate worthy of notice, but was he a top contender? Despite his impressive Air Jordan rotation, he might’ve needed something to push him over the top Stallone-style, and tonight’s sneaker selection against the San Antonio Spurs might’ve put him in MVP contention. For part of the game, Nate Robinson broke out the Nike Air Yeezy 2 in the earth-shattering ‘Solar Red’ colorway – an in-game equipment selection so bold that teammate Taj Gibson couldn’t help put take a picture and call his teammate “crazy”. Of course, NateRob balled in Yeezy 2s before, but this would be the first time he’s done so in an NBA game. Check out Nate Robinson in the Air Yeezy 2 below and let us know if this makes him the NBA Feet MVP of the 2012-2013 season.

Hanging baby-sized shoes from your car mirror is an age-old tradition, but to keep things fresh – literally – is something a bit newer to the scene. Last June we gave you a look at some dope air fresheners designed with some famous Air Jordans in mind, and Shoepreme, the makers of these fun accessories, just added the Air Yeezy 2 in both the Solar Red and Pure Platinum colorways to the pool of kicks – no Twitter RSVP necessary. Keep your whip fresh with the ultimate car air freshener by copping either colorway of the Air Yeezy 2 Air Fresheners at Shoepreme this Friday, and click below to see both in their native habitats.

“The sneaker game isn’t just the same anymore”. That’s a quote that we’ve heard all too often – a certain truth that actually developed over several years rather than on one “big bang” of sorts. From the development of eBay (which sparked reselling) to the infamous mob scene at the Pigeon Dunk release in the Lower East Side, the sneaker game began creeping toward a direction of mainstream publicity, which is definitely where the sneaker game is today. Complex pinpoints fifty moments in sneaker history that shaped the game today, so check out some of the points below and hit up Complex for the entire list.

Sneaker-inspired accessories have a come a long way from the hollowed-out plastic keychains and elephant print bandanas and such because we’re consistently updating you with some random goods like lampshades, pillow-covers, phone cases, and much more. There’s plenty to choose from (the Air Jordan IV selection is rather impressive) so take a look and hit up Sneaker Bistro directly to get yours, but remember that these aren’t official Nike or Jordan products!

Two of the biggest names in sneakers comes together as LeBron meets Yeezy in this amazing custom by Gourmet Kickz. However, it’s not the Air Yeezy 2 that’s used as the focus, but the original Black/Pink (aka “Blink) release of the original Nike Air Yeezy from back in 2009. This concept, derived from graphic artist Mas, is part of Gourmet Kickz’s “Homme Project” of Yeezy-inspired LeBron customs and uses the original Air Yeezy detailing like the ‘Y’ print on the heel and the matching colorway all around the shoe.
