The Air Yeezy is a collaborative sneaker created by the team up of rapper/producer Kanye West and Nike. To date there are two separate versions of the Nike Air Yeezy, with the first releasing in 2009 and the Nike Air Yeezy 2 releasing in 2012. Each colorway has been met with wild anticipation, massive lineups, and eventual sellout success.

2014 has proven to be quite an eventful one for the man named Kanye West. Even after the announcement of his partnership with adidas and the long-awaited release of the Red October Yeezy 2, Kanye continues to be in the headlines thanks to the recent cover photo on the most recent Vogue issue. His gal Kim Kardashian, who was featured prominently on that aforementioned cover, just posted up this photo of Kanye’s “Yeezy”rotation, alongside a few other of his shoes in his sneaker collaboration past. In addition to the entire trio of Yeezy 2s, Kanye has the an unreleased Yeezy sample sitting next to the Zen Grey and Net Yeezy 1s (where the Blinks at?). As of late, Air Jordans in particular have been stuck in the yellow and green via a ton of sought after player exclusives. The sneakers utilize a green snakeskin across their upper and what appear to be some pony hair sections for the mudguard and the straps. As the new Athletic Training Footwear Design Director, Nathan should most certainly add an extra layer of style to training sneakers,  and with the newly launched Flyknit Hyperfeel Trainer, you can already see that his influence has the potential to lift the aesthetic flair of the genre. With every passing year, the hoops that must be jumped through in order to obtain a pair of limited or highly-coveted sneakers are rearranged to reflect the still-growing community of sneakerheads worldwide. At the dawn of the era it was all about the campout; you’d set your chair, sleeping bag, or woodland-grade tent up and play the waiting game for hours, or days, at a time in order to grab that pair of Nike SB Dunks, Air Maxes, or what have you. It could only last for so long though, and as the 2000s progressed, lines continued to get longer and episodes of sneaker mayhem at major releases seemed less and less like isolated events. A change had to be made, and it was industry leader Nike that decided to put the much-needed change into place.
