Nike Basketball didn’t make any outright predictions about the way this lockout-shortened NBA season’s playoffs would turn out, but even putting memories of MVPuppets aside, we can’t help but notice that these new Nike Zoom Kobe VII iDs do indeed form a ‘final four’ with direct correspondence to teams active in this year’s postseason. A black-soled take on the Lakers-colored edition Kobe himself wore in the first round matchup against Denver represents Showtime, but an orange and blue pair with black and white accents could prove a suitable match for the New York Knicks or even the Laker-vanquishing Oklahoma City Thunder. Three of the Final Four of the 2012 NBA Playoffs are now set; the Miami Heat took down the Indiana Pacers in Game 6 last night, winning three straight after falling behind with a 2-1 Series deficit. The young Philadelphia 76ers were given a boost of motivation when Allen Iverson was in town to watch the game, so that Series will go to a Game 7 as it shifts to Boston. The Western Conference Finals have already been set in place, as the Spurs and Thunder completed their advancements earlier this week. Nike Air Penny II ‘Sprite’ – Available

The Miami-inspired Nike Air Penny II that dropped in 2009 didn’t draw as much attention as the recent releases, perhaps because it wasn’t surrounded by as much ‘heat’. The recent success of the Foamposite series as well as hybrids like the Half Cent and Zoom Rookie has made anything with Penny Hardaway’s ’1c’ insignia a must-have, so it’s easy to predict a quick sell-out for this latest Air Penny 2 release. These ‘Sprite’ Penny IIs come to market with a Soar base layer accented by Cyber hits and the signature swooping midsole in white, an energetic look soon to be joined by a black pair that’s arguably even more of a neck-breaker. We’re still waiting to see when the latter will arrive, but the ‘Sprite’ Air Penny II is hitting the shelves at Nike Sportswear retailers like Premier already, so check out a new round of photos below and let us know which of these neon-accented pairs you’re more likely to cop.

Reebok Pump Omni Lite HLS

We’ve known Reebok’s HLS-soled reduxes were on tap since late last year, but the Vector brand is taking their time with this update akin to Nike Sportswear’s LunarLon efforts. The new lightweight bottoms show up again on another RBK classic, this time one you could easily picture with your eyes closed. Or is that, you can picture them with eyes closed, as in the case of Dee Brown’s blindfolded 1991 Dunk Contest winner in the OG Pump Omni Lite? The Reebok Pump Omni Lite HLS looks as expected when you consider what we’ve seen from the updated Ventilators and Insta Pump Furys, but this one also opts for a rebuilt and decidedly more angular upper that has the entire shoe feeling familiar but a heckuvalot sleeker.
