Nike KD2 – Kevin Durant – Spring 2010 Preview

You might not realize this because of the small-market team that he plays for, but Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the NBA. In addition to his rising star status in the League, Durant is also bordering on the upper echelon of the Nike Basketball realm as well. After LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, KD is pretty much the next in line as far as the Swoosh’s b-ball line goes. The KD1 was moderately well-received, and now the KD2 is on the horizon with the hopes of making more of a splash for both Durant and Nike in the eyes of the sneakerhead community. We have already seen some looks at the shoe, including the crazy red patent Velvet Hoop edition that KD was spotted in a few months back. Now, we get a peek at three upcoming colorways of the shoe, each with some personality of their own. Nike Air Max LeBron VII NFW – Red Carpet – Restock On The Way

As warmly as most sneakerheads welcomed the Air Max LeBron VII, the biggest buzz surrounding the shoe was perhaps thanks to the Red Carpet NFW edition. People went crazy for this crisp color scheme and classy woven upper, only to find out that the actual release would be extremely limited in quantity. The Red Carpets hit only four stores last Thursday and were sold out before most people even knew they had dropped. Now we bring you the good news that we have not seen the last of these beauties in stores. There will in fact be a restock of the eagerly awaited kicks at select House of Hoops and Foot Locker locations, so if you missed them last week, you should have no excuse when they hit shelves on December 3rd. Reebok Pump20 Anniversary Collection – Europe

Last but certainly not least (right in the middle, actually, with six entries) in our extensive look at Reebok’s 20th Anniversary Pump collaborations is Europe. We’ll start with the most recent revelation, Patta’s khaki-coloured gumdrop that might be the truest expression of this shoe’s basketball roots. 24 Kilates goes with a simple black and white design that stays close to its roots and maximizes the signature orange pump.

Another (goofy) nod to the golden days of The Pump is a pair of OGs only available in size 20. Solebox’s version evokes another popular shoe from that time with its light-up Pump, while colette uses a grey jersey that reminds us of Reebok’s aerobics gear. Completing the group is another grey drop, the pixelated Hanon design. Only 31 pairs of each when they drop, so you better get your EuroRail passes in order. via SF

If you follow Sneaker News regularly, you might have noticed that Korean retailer Kasina popped up in the sneakerhead scene by offering early releases of some eagerly-anticipated heat earlier this year. Then again, if you happen to be from Korea, you know that they’ve been running the premium kicks game over there for ages. Their cherry red mix of patent leather and nylon looks pretty dope with a Tiffany range of accents. This eleventh hour debut puts them in good company, as long-time Reebok collaborator atmos revealed their nightmarish speckled design. Reebok Pump20 Anniversary Collection – North America

When Reebok and their collaborators started to reveal the 20th Anniversary Pump collection, the first few were all European boutiques. The Asian representatives have been somewhat scattered in their timing, and over the past couple of days, these North American shops have unleashed a torrent of Pump20 designs.

DMV’s Commonwealth is pictured above not just because they rep my home state, but because they’re the newest to be unveiled, after ARC slipped theirs in late last night. Nike Zoom Kobe IV POP SE – Playoff Pack – Only 8 Pairs Made

Not only has the new Kobe V been in production, but we’ve already seen some previews of some up and coming stuff. And yet, Nike just can’t let go of making some dope pairs of ZK4’s until the very point of no return for the arrival of the new signature shoe. C’mon… it’s a new season already, let’s move on. But we can’t forget about the Lakers’ performance last season, especially your boy KB’s 61-point performance. Similar to the special edition made for that momentous feat, these pop up with even more appeal. Not only does the black mamba pair also rock the Stephen Sprouse type graphics on the toebox and ankle, but also come fitted with custom wooden shoe trees. Such a shoe can’t just be shoved into a typical box. These come in a bad-ass metal MVP case, branded by some big names in basketball. Inside, a plaque commemorating Kobe’s athleticism in that unforgettable game. This won’t be like the Jordan 17’s where you contemplate to yourself, ‘is it really that worth it?” because only 8 pairs of these were made. Nike Hyperdunk Low – Spring 2010 Preview

A few months have passed and many have still not recovered from the terrible news that the McFly Hypermax was not to release stateside, and that the McFly Hyperdunk Lows weren’t gonna drop at all! Sad news, we know. But look at the bright side – fresh shoes will always come our way. And on another lighter note, Nike still pursued a future for other Hyperdunk Lows. We saw these as a preview earlier this summer, but now we have some better shots for the Spring 2010 collection. Obviously missing the more favored McFly versions, we see an all black profile instead. Good looks to Shoeniverse for the images.
