Nike Sportswear is bringing back the Cut-Out build of Air Maxes and Blazers for a new set of womens sneakers. The group has sort of a snake look to it, as well as a shiny treatment on top for both pairs. The good news is that none of the Cut-Out styles to date have ended up as regionally exclusive, so you can expect them show up at American NSW accounts sooner or later. While you wait for that, check out the Nike Sportswear WMNS Cut Out “Bronze Snake” Pack below and give us a heads up in the comments which you like more.

nike blazer sao paulo 02 Nike Blazer Zoom Hi SP São Paulo

It seems that Nike has only just begun as far as special Brazil sneakers that tie into this summer’s 2014 World Cup in that South American nation. The latest among them is a set that zooms in on specific cities around the country, with this Nike Blazer being a Sao Paulo tribute. The jacquard upper of the sneakers is inspired by the “Portuguese Pavement” that makes up the city’s stone sidewalks. Take another look at the new Nike Blazer Zoom Hi SP “São Paulo” and watch for retailers like Footpatrol to launch them this Thursday, June 26th.

One of the Oldest Nike Basketball PEs Ever on eBay

nike blazer john lambert One of the Oldest Nike Basketball PEs Ever on eBay

There was a time when player exclusive sneakers from Nike were much more tame, opting for a simple callout by name of the connected player rather than a wild, story driven special make up. Shown here is an early pair from their PE archives, a Nike Blazer created for John Lambert. The tags aren’t showing in these photos, but the listing mentions that they are of the made in Japan persuasion (Nike sourced labor from there in the 70s and early 80s). Continue reading to see all three of these crazy vintage Nike player exclusives and bid on the three-sneaker set now from licence88 on eBay.

The Nike Blazer Mid “Independence Day” will release on June 14th. That’s right, unlike some of the other 4th of July style sneakers showing up for 2014, these will actually be available well in advance rather than debuting right on that actual holiday. These do have just a little bit of a vintage look but not on the level of previous NSW releases – the evidence shows up mostly in the form of the exposed foam for the tongue. Take another look at this upcoming Blazer below and remember that Finishline is one of the spots who will be stocking them this weekend.

A History of Luxury Sneaker Copycats

saint laurent jordan 1 A History of Luxury Sneaker Copycats

Yesterday, news broke that New Balance is suing Karl Lagerfeld over a sneaker being sold by the German fashion designer that features an awfully NB-looking shape, complete with an “K” across the side in place of the usual “N”. That sort of appropriation is nothing new in terms of luxury brands though, and there are plenty of other pairs on the market that owe varying degrees of their DNA to more pedestrian sneaker designs. Legal activity in this realm isn’t an entirely new thing either – Jordan Brand previously chased down Gourmet for their tributes and even New Balance had previous a win in this category following their settlement with Louis Vuitton over a 574 ripoff from 2009.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Independence Day” isn’t the only patriotic style for the summer that Nike Sportswear has in the works. Also coming is this Nike Blazer Mid pair, which wears stripes for the base while adding in some stars onto the Swoosh, back panel, and foxing strip. Come to think of it this pair could also be a World Cup tie in meant to amp up USMNT support – we’ll have to wait and see on the timing of both to determine where their true allegiance lies. Continue reading to see more photos for them and pick your pair up today from Sneakerhead.

Nike Blazer Mid “Floral City Pack” – Release Date

floral pack nike blazer mid city Nike Blazer Mid Floral City Pack Release Date

The Nike Blazer Mid “Floral City Pack” will release on May 31st, 2014. The tie in to each of the associated cities actually runs deeper than just a quick script hit on the back side. Chicago’s pair has a chrysanthemums print as an ode to the official flower of the Windy City, the LA’s bird’s of paradise approach is meant to represent the always-sunny nature of that spot, and the NYC dandelion drop apparently has to do with the “wishful thinking and the quick pace” of life in city. Get the official imagery for each of them below and stay tuned for further sneaker release dates.
