Having built a strong foundation on the initial ‘suede and Sail’ pairings, Nike Sportswear’s Vintage Blazer series has experimented with more colors, blocking patterns and materials of late. This is one of the more expressive to date, a Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Premium VNTG in black leather with Poison Green Swooshes. That alone would be among the more overly eye-catching from this lineage, but then they added the multicolor zig-zag heel tab and that makes them really stand out. Expect these at select NSW retailers in mid-March and click through for more images in the meantime.

So the Lunar Blazer is a truer representation of the sneaker going to outer space than the All-Star colorway that came out two weeks ago, is it not? Maybe this new silhouette should’ve been the representative for the Area 72 Collection, as it features the classic ’72 model with some futuristic upgrades like that rebuilt Lunar outsole, the pronounced heel-counter, and the newly padded ankle, and the Black/Volt colorway certainly adds to that flashy vibe. These are slated to release sometime in 2013 so check the extra angles below and let us know what you think of the completed upgrades.

The original suede Nike Blazer Mid Deconstructs arrived at retail very quietly; will this new duo for women meet with a similar fate? If so, all the better for the ladies that find these Canvas Blazer Mid Decons, their black and Light Blue uppers adding a staticky texture to the upper for some visual depth. These will arrive at select Nike Sportswear retailers in late March, so have a closer look at both after the jump, let us know which came out better and stick with Sneaker News for updates.

The Nike SB Blazer has been keeping a low profile of late, but here’s an eye-catching new release for the spring season. This new Blazer SB Premium features an Aquamarine and Electric Yellow suede build whose pairing might remind longtime Sneaker News readers of the Chlorine Blue and Bright Ceramic joints that arrived in late 2007. The use of purple accents instead of black and a more traditional blocking template echo the success of post-recession fat-cutting, and you can see some more angles below before you buy at shops like Flatspot.

The “Lunarization” of classic Nike models might be something worth preparing for in the future considering the Air Force 1 got plenty of retooling in 2012. The Blazer would be a proper shoe to go nuts with, considering it already has a Chukka-like cut and that sample version that we saw some time ago got plenty of response. This sample isn’t quite the same, as it features the ridged Lunar and a solid piece to comprise the midsole as well as a pronounced heel counter that we normally don’t see with the shoe. Also featuring elephant print accents and a “Grape” color scheme, a full gallery of this revamped Blazer is just below, so take a look and view the full listing from dballaholic on eBay.

The 2013 All-Star Pack by Nike is ready for retail availability, and it’s all starting tomorrow with the Nike Blazer Mid. This model in particular is honored by the entire ‘Area 72′ Collection as a whole as the Blazer was the first-ever Basketball sneaker by Nike (that just so happened to be launched in 1972). Details galore like the cracked-texture on the Swoosh and the outer-space graphic on the upper make up the bulk of this amazing release, so get 2013 All-Star started by copping the Blazers at select Nike Sportswear retailers or right now from shoemongous2012 on eBay.

In last week’s previews showcasing the Dunk High ACs set to release this March, Sneaker News noted that their multicolor tongue tags connect with the vibrant multicolor pattern we’d seen teased on a few Nike Blazer Mid ’77 VNTG drops also for the first half of 2013. This edition highlights the Bright Citrus zig-zags with the orange shade on tongue and heel branding, applying the bold print in question to this pair’s Swoosh atop off-white leather. Expect these at select NSW stores come May and stick with Sneaker News for updates in the meantime.
