Much like Reebok’s Classic Leather and the Puma Suede, the Converse Pro Leather is a recognized icon that frequently deviates from the materials you’d expect from its name. In this particular case, it’s the suede we’ve seen in a variety of pleasing colorways of late, but thanks to CLOT’s eye for vintage good looks, the red/white combinations have been made rustier and have a well-aged vibe about them. They’ll arrive at Juice’s retail locations and their e-store along with a couple of matching tees following a Thursday, November 1st launch event at the Hong Kong door, continuing the string of Pro Leather First String collaborations that’s included Stussy and Patta (and don’t forget about those Aloha Rag joints), and will later add Bodega and St. Alfred. Stick with Sneaker News for updates on those and let us know which of the three sets we’ve seen is best so far.

New Balance is the brand most strongly associated with grey and navy blue suede and mesh retro running designs, but if you consider the vast Nike Sportswear catalog, it makes sense that many of these styles would also flourish under such traditionally elegant conditions. NSW brings forth a new collection featuring eight different styles split into two sets of four silos, as the Nike Air Safari continues its 25th anniversary alongside Air Max 90s, Air Epics and Free Powerlines+es in grey and navy as part of the appropriately frilllessly-named capsule. NSW nails the NB steez with a solid variety of kicks and complimenting apparel, and the grey joints will drop this Friday, September 28th, followed by the blues one week later on October 5th.

This isn’t your father’s sneakerhead scene, but then again, maybe it is. With a variety of forces converging to push menswear toward premium expressions of traditional styles, we’re seeing more and more iconic styles that previous generations have known and love. Grown-up styles that once made us giggle at grandpa now have a luxurious context and are making themselves known as sneaker themes continue to expand their scope. The Vans OTW Collection takes the animal print craze in a new direction with their ‘Trout Pack’, a quartet of sneakers with apparel and accessories to match the fish-patterned canvas and leather styles. Have a closer look at the Vans OTW Woessner, Ludlow Moc, Cobern 2 and Breton Boot along with a few pieces of gear below and stick with Sneaker News for details as we approach the October drop.

Jun Takahashi’s Gyakusou International Running Association has created some of the more inventive Nike Running colorways in recent memory, and this trend toward unique palettes continues with the FW12 capsule. UNDERCOVER’s head man brings back the Nike Lunarspeed Lite as the mens model and the Free 4.0 V2 handles GIRA duties on the ladies’ side. Stick with Sneaker News to find out if any additional colorways are added to flesh out this new woodsy capsule and let us know how these compare to more ubiquitous runners like the Air Max+ 2012 and Free Run+ 3.

Scientists have determined that there are some serious physiological dangers involved with wearing high heels, but fear not — this isn’t that kind of ‘elevated’ shoe. Just when you thought California’s green rush is over, local skate brand HUF comes through with their latest collective effort and keeps the now infamous ‘Plantlife’ sock on center stage. The High Times x HUF Hupper was crafted in hemp (very ‘Bonsai’-like) to echo the theme of this eleven-piece capsule that includes tees, hats, and of course, the popular serrated leaf socks. The set is limited to 420 pieces that’ll light up the HUF e-store and select additional retailers on Friday, September 28th, followed by a release party on October 5th at LA’s Lexington Social Club.

The Ewing Athletics label made one of the sickest comebacks in apparel history with the 33 Hi re-issue that went down just two weeks ago. Top that off with Patrick Ewing being in the building, and you have a) a release done right and b) a spot cemented in the Sneaker News Top 30 of the Year. Keeping the vintage Ewing vibes going is a look at a vintage Ewing Athletics hat in red suede (matching the OG red suedes) with a unique upgrade – the actual 33 Hi strap around the temple! Does this trend have potential to make a comeback? We’ll let you know if Ewing Athletics decides to bring back any of their vintage apparel, so in the meantime, let us know if you’d rock a ‘strapped’ snapback hat.

The wristband phenomenon began in the early-mid-2000′s when the LIVESTRONG initiative went from supportive gesture into must-have accessory. Soon enough, those yellow bands were spotted everywhere, uniting the world toward a positive direction (even if some people wore ‘em just to get in on the fun). Those elastic rubber wristbands are still popular today (even LeBron wears one), so SneakerTube.TV went ahead and created a wristband slogan of their own that we all could get in on – I Love Sneakers. Available in three colorways of red, royal, and glow-in-the-dark, you can join in the I Love Sneakers community by getting your own wristband directly from the SneakerTube.TV online store.
