Nike Sportswear teamed up with renowned artist Marcus Gaab for a special edition project focusing on the Nike apparel staple – the Nike Windrunner Jacket. With Team USA in mind, Gaab and NSW gave the jacket an awesome punch using high-candlepower reflective detailing (like the Vapor Flash jacket that released last November). It features the classic Chevron detailing on the front with perforations arranged along the spine of the jacket for ventilation. Further details include USA-centric notations like the USA Olympic crest at the heart, the American flag on the sleeve, and The United States Of America on the back. Expect this jacket to appear at the medal stand on Team USA Olympians this August!

air jordan iv white red socks Air Jordan IV White/Red Socks

The trend of sneakers imposed onto socks became really popular with the ESPO x Nike Air Force II (the shoes were see-through), and not long after Nike SB came out with its own line of popular SB Dunk socks, like the Rayguns, Homers, and a slew of other big-ticket Dunk titles. Then Air Jordans followed, with the ‘XI’ socks that were released around the time of  the highly-anticipated December drops, but here’s something to change up your sock rotation – the Air Jordan IV White/Red sock; the shoes don’t drop until August, but you can have these accessories now at Jordan Brand retailers like Premier!

Opening Ceremony x adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2013 Preview

adidas Originasl by opening ceremony SS13 Preview 29 570x379 Opening Ceremony x adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2013 Preview

Berlin Fashion Week brought out the best from footwear brands showing off their early 2013 goods, and while most of the attention on adidas Originals has come from Jeremy Scott’s typically outlandish efforts, there was an equally eye-catching capsule on display at Three Stripes’ No.74 store.  And as you look closely at the range of designs depicted in more photos after the jump, you’ll see that the Opening Ceremony x adidas Orignials capsule offers J.Scott some serious competition, both in terms of footwear and apparel offerings.  The styles range from low-profile runners to rugged hightop hiking boots with plenty of animal prints and other patterns spread across the whole capsule.  Conspicuous by its absence (though hinted by Humberto Leon’s tee) was the blue-ragged Boat Swim Shoe we showed you last week, but there’s another taste of LA here in the Opening Ceremony x adidas Crazy 8 Tennis, a shoe that seems particularly well-named in the context of its revamped design.  Check out the entire set in more photos below, let us know which pairs have you most excited and stick with Sneaker News for US release info.

$90,000 Air Yeezy 2 T-Shirt By Wilfry

yeezy 2 tshirts $90,000 Air Yeezy 2 T Shirt By Wilfry

Has the excitement of the Air Yeezy 2 subsided yet? According to one t-shirt designer, not quite. Here’s a look at an Air Yeezy 2 t-shirt designed ‘all-over’ style, which should serve as a throwback to the late-2000′s era of similarly designed t-shirts; it’s got the Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum Yeezy 2s in a cascade of re-prints that spill over the edges of the sleeves, neck, and waist, but the design is rather demure compared to the asking price, which sits at a price tag of $90,300. It’s certainly a ‘What The Yeezy?’ as any other, but the seller notes that his price is negotiable because he will entertain ‘best offers’. Obviously, 90k for a unofficial Nike t-shirt is too high to be taken seriously, but the creator of the t-shirt, Wilfry, also made a recent splash for his ‘Art by Art Jacobs’ t-shirt, which became one of the more humorous stories in urban fashion circles a few months ago. More of this Yeezy 2 t-shirt below, and let us know what your true appraisal value of this t-shirt is and if you’d cop with a workable pricetag!

Nike SB x Levi’s 511 Jeans – New Images

We’ve known since tax day that the Levi’s x Nike SB collaboration would launch on July 4th and since about four weeks after that, that one key component would be a pair of 511 jeans.  The sneakers in play remain a mystery at this point (though there’s some speculation of at least one pair eschewing denim entirely in favor of a canvas build), but we see more details of the Nike SB x Levi’s 511 today with images that show a definite ‘Tiffany’ influence by way of select teal stitching and a black leather size patch.  The Diamond Supply look is a sharp contrast against dark rinse denim but it’s a definite sign of Swoosh skateboarding’s involvement; which other colors of the ever-versatile 511 would look good with this kind of detailing?  Let us know when you’re on the other side and check back with Sneaker News for updates on the Levi’s x Nike SB pack and how it’ll play out with the USA Olympic BMX team in London.  via N-SB

Nike Unveils Team USA Olympic Medal Podium Gear

nike olympics podium 1 Nike Unveils Team USA Olympic Medal Podium Gear

It isn’t at all MVPresumptuous that Nike has been designing their podium gear for USA Olympic athletes well in advance of the 2012 London Games.  Historically, the US is the most oft-golded nation, and as Global Olympic Creative Director Martin Lotti noted, “The world is watching and we want to make sure the athlete looks and feels good in celebration of their achievement.”  For the first time, the Swoosh is offering three distinct outfits for different sports, top-to-bottom outfits that bring together the style and comfort of modern warmups with some of Beaverton’s best footwear styles.  The track athletes as well as those from other traditional sports will suit up in the 21st C. Windrunner and Nike Flyknit Trainer, ballers of varying sorts should show up in the MKII Jacket and Air Force 1 Low and the rest (archery, boxing, cycling, etc.) are slated to accept their medals in the Varsity Bomber Classic and an equally updated classic in the LunarLon-cushioned Blazer Mid LR.  Check out these outfits and the sneakers up close below, let us know who’s got the winning look and stick with Sneaker News for more 2012 Olympic shoes and gear.

Ricky Powell x Pony 40th Anniversary Collection

ricky powell x pony 40th anniversary Ricky Powell x Pony 40th Anniversary Collection

“I sometimes would think of how I would run a school of thought, an attitude . . . “

Ricky Powell’s words above describing his work celebrating Pony’s 40th anniversary help to shed light on the popularity of sneaker collabs. A good portion of the appeal beyond collecting limited edition luxury goods is the implication that, when a brand or designer near to your heart contributes to a sneaker design you love, you’re getting very close to your own artistic expression of this middle ground. On the other hand, this pack of cap-toed Pony Vintage Slam Dunks and accompanying clothing and accessories is clearly Mr. Powell’s handiwork, everything from the waxed canvas uppers to the ‘Do You’ tagline resonating with Ricky’s personal outlook. You’ll see more shots of this capsul after the jump below; will the ‘fourth Beastie Boy’s first sneaker drop make it onto your summertime shopping list?
