high times x huf hupper 1 High Times x HUF Hupper

Scientists have determined that there are some serious physiological dangers involved with wearing high heels, but fear not — this isn’t that kind of ‘elevated’ shoe.  Just when you thought California’s green rush is over, local skate brand HUF comes through with their latest collective effort and keeps the now infamous ‘Plantlife’ sock on center stage.  The High TimesHUF Hupper was crafted in hemp (very ‘Bonsai’-like) to echo the theme of this eleven-piece capsule that includes tees, hats, and of course, the popular serrated leaf socks.  The set is limited to 420 pieces that’ll light up the HUF e-store and select additional retailers on Friday, September 28th, followed by a release party on October 5th at LA’s Lexington Social Club.

vintage ewing 33 hi strapback hat Vintage Ewing 33 Hi Strapback Hat

The Ewing Athletics label made one of the sickest comebacks in apparel history with the 33 Hi re-issue that went down just two weeks ago. Top that off with Patrick Ewing being in the building, and you have a) a release done right and b) a spot cemented in the Sneaker News Top 30 of the Year. Keeping the vintage Ewing vibes going is a look at a vintage Ewing Athletics hat in red suede (matching the OG red suedes) with a unique upgrade – the actual 33 Hi strap around the temple! Does this trend have potential to make a comeback? We’ll let you know if Ewing Athletics decides to bring back any of their vintage apparel, so in the meantime, let us know if you’d rock a ‘strapped’ snapback hat.

“I Love Sneakers” Wristbands

August 29th, 2012 by | 2 comments

glow wristband sneakers I Love Sneakers Wristbands

The wristband phenomenon began in the early-mid-2000′s when the LIVESTRONG initiative went from supportive gesture into must-have accessory. Soon enough, those yellow bands were spotted everywhere, uniting the world toward a positive direction (even if some people wore ‘em just to get in on the fun). Those elastic rubber wristbands are still popular today (even LeBron wears one), so SneakerTube.TV went ahead and created a wristband slogan of their own that we all could get in on – I Love Sneakers. Available in three colorways of red, royal, and glow-in-the-dark, you can join in the I Love Sneakers community by getting your own wristband directly from the SneakerTube.TV online store.

Jordan Triple Threat “Rise Above All” T-Shirt

jordan triple thread rise above all shirt 5 Jordan Triple Threat Rise Above All T Shirt

This Sunday, the Jordan Brand label brought home two more Gold Medals thanks to two of its marquee athletes – Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul. This latest apparel offering from Jordan Brand juxtaposes the ’12 members with ’92′s Michael Jordan as all three athletes are wearing their respective kicks – MJ in the Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’ and CP3/Melo wearing the Jordan Super Fly ‘Olympic’. The shirt design is a throwback to the original Dream Team t-shirt, as Melo and Jordan hold up the Jordan global logo and CP3 drapes the American flag on his back. One glaring omission? Jordan Brand athlete Dwyane Wade, who spent the summer rehab-ing an injury. So even thought the ’12 team brought home Gold, the debate continues is the 2012 team better than the 1992 Dream Team? Check out additional angles and close-ups of this tee below and get yours right now at Nikestore.

stussy x alakazam x vans era 1 Stussy x Alakazam x Vans Era

‘Alakazam’ is one of those magical words that’s been attached to everything from Pokemon characters to Shaquille O’Neil feature films, and in this case, it refers to the special blend cast by British artists Will Sweeney and Ayako Terashima.  Stussy represents the East Coast by way of Japan for this latest world tour, with the Vans Era completing the revolution with a bit of West Coast cool.  Alakazam applies a unique three-toned accent scheme with serious 3-D overtones including an oscilloscope pattern that also plays a major role in the accompanying apparel and accessories.  Have a closer look after the jump, let us know how these rate compared to recent Vans collabos profiled here on Sneaker News and check back with us to see if these make it to US stores.
