Although the human body has difficulty assimilating energy from the calories in alcohol, the carbohydrate-laden drinks in which its often served and the nutritionally poor choices for munchies many make while imbibing, make drinking and looking fit an almost impossible match. Leave it to a couple of designers at a Singaporean sneaker boutique to crack the code on how to bring fitness and fermentation together, the new Limited Edt x Reebok Workout having been inspired by the Tiger Beer bottle’s aesthetic around the time of the Workout’s 1987 debut. The upper has been enhanced with a gradient that imitates the fizz of carbonation as well as a tiger-striped insole, while the shoe’s colors are a direct match to both the bottle and a special edition box that’s a first for this Workout 25th anniversary capsule. Dave White x Air Jordan 1 – Release Reminder

Jordan Brand rarely taps an outside source to design a shoe, but when it does, it shouldn’t be surprising that they went to such great heights and brought in one of most talented artists/sneakerheads today. Dave White’s brush strokes are more easily recognizable on canvases, but when we first saw the Dave White x Air Jordan 1 that released in February of 2011, the instant connection was made. Of course, just 23 of those pairs went out to the public via auction, but a year later, Jordan Brand will release another Dave White-designed Air Jordan 1 to a larger audience. In addition to tomorrow’s release, the Dave White x Air Jordan 1 will also release on February 24th, and proceeds from the Air Jordan 1 Dave White will go toward benefiting the Jordan Brand WINGS For The Future program. We’re kicking off tomorrow’s groundbreaking release day by giving you a heads up on these first, so check out the new images below and cop one of the available pairs like this one from sheldon767 on eBay.

Gel heads have been eagerly awaiting for word on their release since then, and while they aren’t ready to drop any info just yet, we do have another sneak peek from the Solebox team. When you think of non-traditional enclosures, examples like the Footscape’s asymmetrical lacing system, the Reebok Insta Pump Fury and Puma Disc Blaze are probably right at the top of the list. But none of those can hold a candle to the latest release from ever-innovative Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto‘s long-running collaboration with adidas, the Y-3 Black Savage hightop. Sporting a Tricolore sole with more teeth than your average hacksaw, this shelltoed boot-inspired design utilizes an elastic cord lockdown system like the one Yamamoto used on the Y-3 Sneak, another model we expect as part of the spring/summer 2012 collection. Kasina x Reebok Workout 25th Anniversary

We’re coming up on the global launch of the Workout 25th Anniversary next week, so before we get completely engulfed by the NBA All-Star buildup, let’s examine the remaining revelations from this 15-pair super-set. The Kasina x Reebok Workout takes the dignified approach that so many of these understated collabortations have offered, but manages to stand out from a largely sueded pack thanks to the use of a dark tweed upper. This multicolored woolen upper looks fantastic next to walnut brown leather accents and a white sole, but are they better than SNS’ equally clean brown leather look? Kinetics x adidas Originals Superstar 80s ‘Animal’ – New Images

Jeremy Scott has been doing the animal inspired thing for adidas Originals for a minute now, but if you’re looking for a pair without all kinda wild additions hanging off the edges, then the Kinetics x adidas Originals Superstar 80s ‘Animal’ might be the one for you. Showing up on a classic shell-toed silhouette, the design here is a bit of a cross-breed with the leopard print horse hair matched with the scaly snakeskin of the side stripes. 2011 was certainly a big year for this sort of safari’d out sneaker, so can models like the Kinetics x adidas Originals Superstar 80s ‘Animal’ help carry the trend in 2012? Size? x adidas Originals Rod Laver Vin Lux

It’s kinda nice to see a shoe with the vintage label without a bunch of yellowing and bruises busting up the clean look, isn’t it? The Size? x adidas Originals Rod Laver Vin Lux has a throwback feel what with the clean lines of this OG tennis silhouette, but it keeps the bar at a premium level with the canvas and suede combo. Breaking up the black pair a bit is some contrastive stitching, along with a few regal looking hits of gold toward the top of the shoe and on the adidas Originals branding on the insole.
