Bodega is certainly busy these days as we get yet another look at a sneaker collaboration with a major brand, and a part of the Reebok Certified Network, Bodega gets their go on the Pump 25. The crew recalls the “golden era” of basketball in 1989, which coincides with the official debut of this game-changing shoe; as the basketball culture reached an apex, Reebok revolutionized the basketball sneaker with the Pump technology that is still an icon today. Check out the photos from their official lookbook below and stay tuned for the release this Saturday, October 18th.

The days of saving up for retros with a fast food paycheck are happily over for many of us, but for those who’ve arrived in the grown up food industry, one of chefs and line cooks moving swiftly across an often slippery kitchen floor, finding the right pair to wear is often delegated to the lowest rung on the shoe totem pole – the beater. That’s where Vans latest collaborative project comes in, as they’ve teamed up with Tyler Kord, owner and head chef of the No.7 family restaurants, to create a kitchen-friendly Vans Classic Slip-On. The shoe comes complete with added cushioning to support standing for long periods of time, a siped outsole to prevent slipping, and the patented Vansguard outer coating to help the sneaker repel liquids to keep that clean black base fresher for longer. Be sure to check out some photos of the shoe in action and know that you can grab other Vansguard products complete with the water resistent coating from Vans today.

Sophnet. x Nike Blazer Low SP

sophnet nike blazer low sp 01 Sophnet. x Nike Blazer Low SP
Japanese clothier SOPHNET. is about to celebrate being open for business for a decade and a half, and throughout those years we’ve been consistently treated to some of the strangest and most original Swoosh collaborations (look no further than their rendition of the Nike ACG Air Deschutz). Their latest teaming up sees the Nike Blazer Low SP treated to a premium suede construction in a monochromatic Obsidian. Bold branding finds its way onto the leather heel tab as the abbreviated brand even gives the city of Tokyo some shine underneath. This release is one of a few others – along with the Nike Lunar Internationalist – that will be arriving later this year. Stick around after the break for a better view and be sure to head to our release dates page for an updated look at what sneakers are headed our way for the remainder of October.

Bodega x Saucony Shadow 6000 for October 2014

bodega saucony shadow 6000 october 2014 1 Bodega x Saucony Shadow 6000 for October 2014

Sneaker boutiques lucky enough to collaborate with major brands treasure the storytelling and product presentation aspect of the entire process. We’ve seen stores like Extra Butter hold special events in unveiling their shoes, while other spots embrace elaborate seeding efforts in order to get the word out. Boston’s Bodega has relied on the laurels of the design itself, because their last few collaborations, particularly with Saucony, have merely showed up at stores, which sorta takes us back to the old days when sick kicks just appeared on shelves. This latest installment of the Saucony x Bodega series focuses on the Shadow 6000 silhouette, with tonal suede uppers and a red/white floral print lining the insoles (a “Sweater Disc” nickname is floating around as well). We’ll wait for Bodega to come forward with an official backstory of sorts, but in the meantime, keep these on your radar because they’re hitting stores soon.

Tokyo sneaker shop Kicks Lab returns with a brand new collaborative effort with Puma’s First Round Lo for this month. This isn’t the first time that the two have come together, as April 2013 brought us a camouflage inspired First Round Lo. This time around, the homage hits a little closer to home for the brand as the “Nishihn” title nods at the district in Kyoto that rose to prominence for the production of traditional kimonos. The call out is most prominent on the floral branding that stands out atop a black suede.┬áThe┬ácollaboration is set to launch tomorrow, October 10th at select internationalist shops like Hanon. More photos after the break.
