Thrasher x CONS – ‘Prevent This Tragedy’ Collection

Converse’s new skateboarding line, CONS, makes its first collaboration with skate magazine, Thrasher. To coincide with the release of Thrasher’s new video, ‘Prevent This Tragedy’ which is to be included in their January issue, CONS has created a pack of new CTS Ox and Mids. All the shoes feature plain black canvas uppers, complimented with colored fixing stripe. One pair features a gum midsole, while the Mid features a ‘Prevent This Tragedy’ graphic. Custom graphics made by Ethan Fowler were created for the insoles. Released yesterday, these are now available at select retailers. via Hypebeast.

Patta x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star + Pro Leather 76 – Available

For anyone not intimately acquainted with modern ’street’ culture, it’d probably be easy to confuse Patta and Parra. You can start to see similarities beyond their nearly-identical European names, upon viewing the former’s entire collection for Converse. Let’s take the Lincoln/Kennedy-style analysis a step further: Parra, who designed a special Converse Chuck Taylor All Star earlier this year, also just dropped a Nike Air Maxim 1 and two matching varsity jackets. Meanwhile, Patta had designed two Converse hightops (quilted grey Chuck and burgundy corduroy Pro Leather 76) with a reversible varsity jacket to match or contrast either pair. These dropped in Europe back in September, but will be hitting select U.S. retailers like HUF tomorrow, November 14th.

Converse All-Star Strap Hi Leather

No this isn’t one of those high-end brands making a shoe that just-so happens to look like a Chuck Taylor. It’s a good ol’ Chuck Taylor, but with a new twist. Converse probably noticed they didn’t have a model to compete against the rising success of strappy sneakers, say, Reebok’s Ex-O-Fit or Supra’s TK Society. Even DC got the hint and made the Admiral WT. Alas, Converse upped the ante and added a double strap to their staple shoe. Rather than laces going all the up and choking the ankles, the two velcro straps add a more contemporary look (not to mention makes less left-over lacing since most of us never tied it all the way up anyway). But this isn’t the only modification. Elastic padding is fitted as an upper heel counter for extra comfort. In monochrom choices of white or black, these are a nice new look for the old shoe brand. via streething.com

Converse Skateboarding – CONS – Holiday 2009

Earlier in October, we gave a quick look at what’s to come for the holidays from Converse’s new CONS skateboarding division. Now we can look at some other drops as part of the respective collection. Like the all suede grey CTS OX we’ve already seen, there will also be an all suede black pair. You’ll notice there’s a lobster graphic found on the backside of the tongues. No info as to why those are there and why that specific style has it out of all the holiday stuff. Graphic or not, still fresh. For those who prefer a more authentic Chuck Taylor feel, the exact colorway will be available in the traditional canvas upper with rubber toe cap. But we can’t forget about the classic high-cut. For those who prefer a mid, CONS supplies us with the CTS Ox Mid, in a chocolate suede, and the CONS Reverse Mid II in grey and white suede with mesh tongue. Don’t forget, the CONS versions now have a high density foam on the upper lining and tongue and a more stable shank and heel counter for more comfort compared to the original Chucks. And going with skate fashion, the suede and laces are made for high abrasion to ensure durability and last while skateboarding, or whatever it is you wanna do in these. via Silo

Converse Japan – November 2009 Releases

Converse Japan has began to roll out their November releases with some great winter themed prints and textures. There are fourteen pairs in total, most with some kind of seasonal accents. The most predominant shoe in the collection are the eight different Chuck Taylors that come in a variety of High, Mid, and Low tops. These Chuck Taylors come in a variety of uppers such as canvas and flannel and include old school lumberjack details and patterns found on classic winter sweaters. There are four pairs of Jack Purcells all with full canvas uppers, there are low and high-top styles available. They have four different color schemes: purple, yellow, white and grey. Last but not least are two pairs of One Stars available in two plaid colorways: green/red and black/grey. Via Highsnobiety

The Clash x Converse Chuck Taylor – Spring 2010

While they may have ‘borrowed’ an idea for album art from the single most significant musical artist of the modern era in Elvis Presley, it was The Clash who were ‘the only band that matter[ed]‘. The band’s sprawling 1979 triple-LP ‘London Calling’ is considered their finest work and the cover’s signature pink and green lettering is reproduced on the soles of these Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Highs. In addition to this white leather pair, there’s one in black and another in olive green with button embellishments with a Combat Rock vibe.
