Cat scratched, whiskered and otherwise distressed denim reached its peak in the mid-2000s as abrasions and even paint splatters made their mark on the decade’s jeans. The fashion world’s grown and sexy lean in recent years sees these styles de-emphasized in favor of a more ‘clean’ look, but they’ll never go away because this is just what happens when you love a garment for a long time. Fitting, then, to see the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star in navy denim, a release whose vintage appeal and blackened sole create some overlap with the ongoing John Varvatos capsule. Check these rugged denim Chucks out in more images below, then grab yours at retailers like Titolo.

When you think of the Converse Jack Purcell, you think classic styling, iconic ‘smile’ and surprisingly well-cushioned footbed. That last benefit is roughly the opposite you’d feel as compared to walking on rocks, but as we see in these two latest Jack Purcell LTT colorways, the JP is perfect to pair with both pebbles and their typical colors. Check out these Limestone and Warm Sand Purcells, a couple of low-key and supremely wearable canvas lowtops that you can find now at retailers like BNIB.

So this new rosette-covered All Stars are here to fill a need, and you’ll find your pair available today at retailers like Titolo.

Converse has issued a few boat shoe-inspired designs over the past several years, most recently a smile-toed Jack Purcell hybrid. This new style also capitalizes on one of the One Star’s most cherished heritage models, but this time, the signature element rests on the side panels. That’s where you’ll find the Star/Chevron logo that connects this moc-toed chukka-ish Converse Pro Leather Nautical, a design that otherwise finds itself profoundly different from the basketball originals. This Dusty Blue debut makes a strong first impression, so check out more shots below, then grab yours straight from Converse.
