Converse has released a variety of camouflage Chuck Taylors over the past year plus, styles ranging from general releases to Far East exclusive collaborations. Even the cartoon band Gorillaz used a camo print for one of their Converse Chuck Taylor All Star collabs, and on this latest drop, we see a hint of another famed primate. These Olive Branch All Stars have a bulbous concealment pattern reminiscent of A Bathing Ape, and they’re considerably more affordable than the camo Ape Sta that hit last month. Can you separate your favorite sneakers from those that have been the most influential over the years? Italy’s Slam Jam teases us with this toe-box shot of its upcoming Converse First String collaboration, using “red smiles and gum laces” as the tag-line for this visual hint. We can certainly expect something simplistic and clean from these fellas, who have proven time and time again that their concepts with sneakers have always been well-received by the sneaker community. The latest Converse Chuck Taylor All Star collaboration comes from the Far East in tribute to a long-running manga. The Japanese comic JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure now extends beyond Dreamcast throwback on your Xbox Live Arcade with a new Chuck Taylor hightop bearing ‘Phantom Blood’ embossing on the leather tongue tags and an illustrated upper inspired by protagonist Jonathan Joestar. These JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All Stars will hit select Japanese retailers with a pre-order starting Monday, May 20th, and you can see more images below.

One of the more engaging stories in the sneaker community over the last two years was the emergence of the ShoeZeum that was owned, operated, and curated by Jordan Geller – one of the most enthusiastic sneaker collectors ever to lace up a pair of shoes. Sneaker News had the fortunate opportunity to not only break the ShoeZeum story wide open in 2011, but also to be at the grand opening of the ShoeZeum Las Vegas in August of 2012; creating a near-complete sneaker collection filled with the most amazing heat on the planet and having it available for public viewing is a feat that no other person in the world might have been able to accomplish, but Jordan has put a lot of time, work and money into this, and after an impressive run, he’s ready to move on to a new chapter.
Beginning last night, Jordan is putting almost the entire ShoeZeum collection up for grabs on eBay, listing either 9, 23, or 45 different individual items per day. That gives sneaker collectors a rare chance to purchase some of the most sought-after shoes on the planet, and with every single auction starting off at $0.99, it’s anyone’s game – and who knows, you might even cop a steal! Converse’s use of the ‘sweatshirt’ theme in the 2010s is a good example of how to extend a concept over a long period instead of milking it dry in one shot. There were Chucks in 2010 and ’12 with a Star Player Sock Mid in between, and now we see a release for 2013 that outnumbers the past three years combined. Again exercising restraint, we see Converse Japan issue not a rainbow, but more of a Punnett square of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star BK Hi and Oxes. Each height gets grey/green and blue colorways, all four of which you can see in more photos below.
