Spike Lee’s shoe-game has gone “grown” recently, much in part due to Revive Customs and his insane redone Lunargrands done just for the Brooklyn-born film director. This latest custom features a tonal orange upper with a classic Knicks blue Lunar midsole and the jersey mesh print on the upper for that sporty touch on this refined shoe. Finishing off the custom is the custom “SL” logo on the heel inspired by the original Cole Haan logo, the throwback Knicks logo on the right insole, and a pixelated version of the Mars Blackmon logo on the left insole. What’s better is that Spike wore these during Game 6, when the Knicks clinched their second-round playoff berth. We’ve got a high-res gallery below, so give it a look and let us know if you’d cop these Knicks-inspired Cole Haan Lunargrands if they ever dropped in store!

Vans will forever be one of those skate companies associated with a laid-back West Coast vibe. More specifically they’re linked to California culture, as the skate brand was an important presence during the genesis of the skateboarding movement out in the Sunshine State. Linking up the sneakers with the locale where they’re the most dominant is this, a custom creation from Rad is Rad. The pair puts on a map print across the blank canvas like upper of the Vans Slip-On. Continue reading to see the Vans Slip-On “LA Map”, which are a pretty incredible display if they are indeed hand-painted, and tell us in the comments if you like the look.

Another incredible week of sneaker customs is upon us, with a rather diverse set of shoes and the “usuals” making their way in this week’s recaps of remixed kicks. The “Sunset Strip” Foamposite Ones were a nice sight, as was the Air Jordan VII “92 Champ” that paid tribute to MJ’s second NBA Title. Mache Customs whipped up a pair for charity – one that is close to his own heart – while the Roshe Run caused headlines once again. We’ve got a thorough recap of all the best sneaker customs this week, so check them all out below and vote for your favorite in the poll at the very end.

It’s a wonder we haven’t seen a Halo-inspired sneaker custom more often. The massive video-game franchise’s main character Master Chief quickly became one of the more recognizable fictional figures for the newest generation of gamers, but his influence hasn’t been too felt on the custom scene until now. The shiny green armor of that man main is transferred over onto the Nike LeBron 9 Elite here courtesy of Revive Customs. Continue reading to see this Nike LeBron 9 Elite “Master Chief”, including the details it’s got going on with the lights off, and tell us in the comments if they do justice to the Halo franchise.

It’s always refreshing to see the custom scene to reach out beyond the standard Swoosh stuff when whipping up one-off sneakers. Case in point is this new pair from El Cappy, which pours a bunch of extra details onto an Asics Gel Lyte III release from a couple years back. The job was commissioned by Detroit rapper Phil Swish, who sought out El Cappy to create a sneaker thematically similar to his upcoming debut album Black Wool. Stay with us after the jump to catch all the angles on the Asics Gel Lyte III “Black Wool” creation and tell us in the comments if you feel like this pair is an upgrade to the retail release of a base.

The Nike Air Force 1 “PlayStation” remains a grail for anyone who considers themselves a connoisseur of Uptowns. And if you’re not a big fan of that classic silhouette, surely you can appreciate the Sony style being ported over to the Nike LeBron X. Mache Customs has been a dominant force in the sneaker customs scene, but this time around, he extends a generous hand for a great cause – one that has had a direct effect on his personal life. In an effort to raise awareness of Pediatric Stroke Awareness month (in May), he created this incredible Nike LeBron X custom, using a silver Nike iD base and laced with deep purple ribbon graphics and the “Kandu” mascot – the official mascot for Pediatric Stroke survivors. Additional details include some personal messages, with “I Believe In A Pediatric Stroke Survivor” and “I Believe in JJ” proudly displayed on the inner sides of the ankle collars; Jayden, or “JJ”, is Mache’s son (now three years old) who suffered a pediatric stroke at birth. This is a great cause and a honorable effort to promote awareness for this widespread issue, so check out the photos below and get your bids in right now from the live auction from mlomas2295 on eBay.

Foamposite customs are still a hot topic because outside of basic sole-swaps and “Galaxy”-inspired themes, we haven’t seen too many unique concepts that make us to a double-take. Truth is, this “Sunset Strip” custom might not fit everyone’s taste, but we’re not seeing any other customizer but Rocket Boy Nift consistently pumping out these graphic-upper custom Foams. This one, according to him, is inspired by a combination of Hollywood Blvd. and Sunset Blvd., and is built to withstand all weather conditions. We’ve got a gallery below, so take a look and throw your bids in now for a pair from niftnif1990 on eBay.
