There aren’t too many models out there that offer up a blank canvas on the same level as the Vans Slip-On. The clean slate style of the sneakers upper offers a playground of sorts to customizers, rewarding those with a steady hand and creative ideas. Two Left Customs definitely has that-as evidenced by this incredible piece of work that puts the likeness of Vans CEO Steve Van Doren across the upper in black and white. Continue reading to see the painstaking detailed put into these, as well as a shot of Van Doren endorsing them, and tell us if you like the muted black and white style.

air jordan 1 airwisdumb Air Jordan 1 AIRWISDUMB Customs by Josh Wisdumb

Does the name Josh Wisdumb sound familiar to you? The artist has had his hands in the sneaker game for some time now, and was officially recognized by the New Balance folks back in 2005 when they gave him his own 574 design. His name has again registered on the sneaker news-wire with this, a custom made Air Jordan 1. The pair reprises those busy lines that were draped over the aforementioned New Balance 574, all while maintaining a pretty straightforward Jordan Brand palette between the red, white, and black sections. See more on the Air Jordan 1 “AIRWISDUMB” customs below and then grab them from jwisdumb2012 on eBay.

Getting away from his typical gas-mask treatment, this project instead results in a helmet mimicking that of your favorite Star Wars bounty hunter. The front visor is even there, as are the multiple moons of Tatooine in the background of the photo shoot. Click through for more on Freehand Profit’s Nike SB Dunk High “Boba Fett” helmet piece and tell us in the comment if you prefer this to his usual gas-mask fare.

We’ve got a gallery of photos for you below so take a look and let us know what you think of this Superhero-inspired custom!

Will that split colored Nike KD V ever hit retailers? Deciding to skip the wait, KSM Customs went ahead and whipped up a pair with a similar set up across the upper. The sneaker gears its colorway towards the soon-to-be-released Iron Man 3, with the upper mimicking the red and gold of Tony Stark’s suit of armor. Of course the Nike KD V already had a superhero colorway release this past weekend via the Elite line, but it’s still cool to see a pair link up with the Marvel universe since that’s not an official collab we’re likely to see any time soon. Get an extra look at the Nike KD V “Iron Man 3″ below and tell us if you like the work from KSM Custom Kicks.
