Nike Kobe 9 Elite “Nola Gumbo Glow” Customs by Gourmet Kickz

The Nike Kobe 9 Elite “All Star” had some glow in the dark sections to it, as did all of the Nike Basketball signature releases surrounding that event for this year. Did they have enough glow though? Gourmet Kickz apparently didn’t think so. The man went ahead and upgraded the Flyknit sections on the shoes to also feature that look, resulting in a design that’s certainly more of a head turner when the lights are off. Get with us after the break for the full imagery and hit up Gourmet Kickz if you like what you see.

Asics Gel Lyte III “Patta x Parra” Customs

If you said you were going to apply a Patta x Parra colorway to an Asics retro runner, longtime collectors might take umbrage with the idea and remind you that in fact, the Dutch artist’s red/yellow/blue combination dropped on the Gel Lyte Speed two years (and a host of new sneakerheads) before their epic Nike Air Max 1.  But this new Asics Gel Lyte III custom by Julien Swoosh is quite clearly aligned to that AM1 and not the LyteSpeed, its burgundy suede upper adding color complements that end up squarely in the neighborhood of that coveted AM1.  Click in to see the detail involved and let us know how these ‘Patta x Parra’ custom Gel Lyte IIIs compare to their muse.

As Nike pledged to end the usage of exotic animal skins on their sneakers a couple of years back, you’re not likely to ever see a pair of Jordans don real deal snakeskin. Fortunately, guys like JBF Customs can make that happen. His newest creation, which riffs off an Air Jordan 3 from last year, features not only python skin, but also some samplings of shark and kangaroo as proof that he’s dedicated to advancing his craft. Air Jordan 11 “Chicago White Sox” Customs by Sole Swap

With all the attention being paid to Michael Jordan’s tenure with the CHW minor league affiliate Birmingham Barons during this 20th anniversary of his move from basketball to baseball, it’s only natural that we’d see some form of the Air Jordan XI ’45′ sample involved.  There has been no official release info (and because 11s are typically a Christmas season release, any Barons style would be unlikely at best), so one customizer took it upon himself to get the job done.  This ‘Chicago White Sox’ Jordan 11 by Sole Swap gives us a dope black/grey colorway with white details, including that famed ’45′ and the South Siders’ insignia on the insoles.  Click in for a closer look, let us know if you’d be interested in a baseball or otherwise retirement-themed AJXI and stick with Sneaker News for all the latest custom designs.

The creation is actually a mash-up of all of the Nike LeBron 10 customs that have ever come from the lab of Gourmet Kickz-including the LeBreezy python pair, his take on the “Galaxy”, the “ParaNorman”, and more. Continue reading to see the shoes and then tell us in the comments how many of the various themes you can pick out from the images.
