When you realize that these kicks are Brazilian exclusives, it seems totally natural that yes, those are canaries kicking a soccer ball on the Nike Dunk Low pictured above. Sharing its nickname with Brazil’s national soccer team, this pack of kicks and gear prominently features the tiny birds in all sorts of different forms. No surprise, then, that these are the second set from Nike Sportswear’s Canarinho Collection. The most exciting addition be the new Nike Blazer Low Metro. It’s an update to the retro basketball sneaker that has a slightly Free-like forefoot. DJ AM’s Kicks On Display @ UNDFTD Silverlake

We have steadily been keeping you up to date on the latest on the DJ AM Memorial Fund auction on eBay, and as you may be aware, a large portion of his collection has still not shown up for sale. If you’re wondering what else you can expect to pop up, you can get a glimpse of a couple gems that are now on display at Undefeated. To help raise awareness for the auction and honor DJ AM in the process, a glass case has been set up at UNDFTD Silverlake with a few of AM’s treasures like the N.E.R.D. Dunks and Rocafella and Black Album Air Force 1’s to name a few. Nike SB Dunk High Premium – Brain Wreck – Variant Samples

Todd Bratrud’s insane ‘Brain Wreck’ Nike SB Dunk High Premium was one of the most creative collaborative visions that made its way to retail this year. When we first peeped a sample during a June Nike SB showcase, we expected the heels to have their designer’s name, but he flipped the script to reveal a cohesive theme on behalf of Skate Mental. As for SM, they were to be incorporated in the special ‘NIKE SM’ tag on this variant sample’s tongue, but that was nixed in favour of one with blue accents.

With this in mind, you can start Waldo-ing all the differences: the sample outsole was pink instead of black, sample toe is light grey instead of pink. Probably the two most significant changes were stitching: the sample only had an outline of the amazingly-detailed quilting found on the released edition, plus its heel is screened on instead of embroidered. This is the kind of ridiculously rare stuff that truly great collections are made of, and one size 9 pair is available at MentalKicks.

Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle Collection 2009 – Release Reminder

It’s an annual tradition, and with good reason. The Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Foundation Auction was a huge success in 2009, raking in some well-deserved cash for the Oregon-based children’s hospital. This year’s Doernbecher Freestyle consisted of some crazy stuff like an ‘Air-plane Yeezy’, but centered around six special designs: Shox NZ by Molly Martin, Air Max Zenyth by Anna Finley, Air Force 1 Low by Bradley Bowlby, Skinny Dunk High by Makayla Hansen, P-Rod III by Collin Callsen and Air Jordan VI (6) by Jordan Dark. All six will be available at Nike Sportswear retailers including the 21 Mercer St. flagship tomorrow, Saturday, November 14th.

Nike Dunk High Premium SB Quickstrike “Gucci” aka “RESN” – Available

You don’t have to be a sneaker expert to know about the release of the RESN x Nike SB Dunk High ‘Gucci’ which seems to be this year’s most anticipated Nike SB release. The demand for these SB Dunk Highs come mostly from the fact that only 24 pairs of the original model were produced. Although the 2009 version stays very true to the 2005 originals there are a few design differences. The most noticeable difference is the tightly stitched and less frayed denim used to construct the upper, as well as a black heel tab instead of red. These recently sold out on Kix-Files, and are already hitting select U.S. SB accounts like DQM as we speak, so keep an eye out.

Nike Dunk SB Low Premium Quickstrike – Orange Hemp – Detailed Images

Last month we gave you a little peek at the Nike SB Low Premium orange hemp for the current 2009 season. The Hemp design was made famous in 2004 and became one of the most sought after SB Dunks produced. These updated versions feature some nice design additions that are sure to please SB enthusiasts everywhere. There are a few accents of red that give these Dunk Lows some good contrast, while the main colors are a rich orange suede and off white Hemp. Some brown deatails like the brown outsole and speckled brown liner also give a more depth to what could have been a very simple and minimal design. Although these Nike SB Low Premiums do not bring back the fat tongue everyone seems to be missing they are surely going to sell quick to all of you SB Dunk lovers out there. SBTG Varsity Bones – Black Mamba Dunk Low + Sable Air Force 1

Customizer extraordinaire, SBTG, is back with the final two installments of the popular Varsity Bones series. Both new styles are follow-ups on some previous creations we’ve seen as part of Kicks Lab Varsity Bones styles. There is a Black Mamba edition of the Dunk Low, giving collectors a crack at the next closest thing to the Black Mamba Dunk High version that was actually given to Kobe Bryant during his tour of Asia back in July. The shoe features a black/purple color scheme with a leopard-style pattern on the rear panel and several personal nods to the Black Mamba, like his logo, number and MVP stamp. The other new Varsity Bones offering is similar to the Kicks Lab x Freshness edition that we showed you last month. The design and materials of the Sable Air Force 1 remain the same for the most part, with new additions coming by way of a blue spotted Swoosh and tongue piping and black laces instead of green. If you like what you see, both pairs will be dropping in limited numbers on November 16th at the Royalefam online store.
