Nike SB Dunk Mid – Photo Blue Ripstop

This Nike SB Dunk Mid colorway is one whose materials seem a bit at odds with the colorway. A ripstop pair is one that you’d probably get the most use out of for the winter months, but the clean blue and white colorway in place definitely looks like a spring time affair. Either way they’re here now, finally making their way into Nike SB accounts after we got our first peek way back in October of 2012. Get with us after the jump to see some more angles on this Nike SB Dunk Mid and keep in mind that they’re in store now at Dissent Skateshop.

After witnessing Nike’s AF1-XXX celebration last year, can we expect something similar for the Nike Dunk in 2016, when this college-specific sneaker will celebrate its own 30th birthday? If so, let’s hope releases like this finely crafted High-top hits stores. This sudden release is simply like nothing else we’ve seen, as the upper pairs a luxurious navy toe with a quilt pattern on the upper for a nice contrast with a leather tongue label and Swoosh being matched with work-boot style laces. This incredible new Nike Dunk High is indeed part of NSW’s Special Projects label, and right now it’s available now at Titan22 in the Philippines (potentially an exclusive release to them), so check out the full shot below and let us know if you’d like to see NSW get more creative with their Dunk releases.

Although the “Patagonia” concept has already been done in a low-top Dunk Low SB, this upcoming release does spin off those colors of the impressive mid-top that released in 2011. Featuring a full suede upper treatment with a mesh-like material on the ankle collar, this upcoming release of the Nike SB Dunk Low does in fact capture that mountain-hiking vibe with the earthy tones, but for those who prefer trekking the streets over the steep inclines, these Dunks will fit in just as well. A full shot of this release is below so take a look and stay tuned to Sneaker News for release info.

Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low – Rejected 2003 Samples

March 20th, 2013 by | 5 comments

rejected supreme dunk lows Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Rejected 2003 Samples

In 2003 Supreme and Nike SB teamed up again for another Dunk tribute, focusing on the original college “Be True” colorways that released in 1986. However, before we saw the high-top versions with the golden star graphic on the uppers, Supreme flirted with this concept – a Low-top Dunk with a golden sprinkling of Nike Swoosh logos instead of the stars. Apparently that was a bit over-the-top and might’ve stepped on the toes of the higher-ups a bit too much because this trio of low-tops was effectively rejected, making way for a release of the high-tops as a solo act. Those who remember the release of the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High may remember that Supreme released one colorway per day on consecutive days, with employees paying strict attention to the people waiting in line as to prevent a “doubling up”. Definitely a cool story to pick up regarding Supreme’s history, so check out a full shot of what could’ve been and let us know what you think of these bold unreleased samples.
